kansas city: Don't Google It, Topeka It... - 04/01/10 10:45 AM
Google is no more... In an unprecedented decision Google, Inc. has decided to change it's name to Topeka, Inc. in honor of the city's recent decision to change it's name to Google, Kansas. As April Fool's Day pranks go, this one is a doozy. Not because of any confusion over the name (I'm sure most people understand it's meant to be humorous) but because of the massive reach of this "joke." The name "Topeka" will be in front of the entire world for an entire day. Domestic and international news outlets are covering this story as if it's real news. And, this could be a

kansas city: Brighten Your Day and Your Attitude - 06/06/09 02:00 AM
Today is my 32nd birthday. LOL. And, frankly, sometimes I can stress a little bit. However, after a tough day at the office, I can let the stress of the day carry-on into my personal life or I can change my attitude. Changing my attitude has proven it can be a challenge Recently, I found a solution... when I am feeling particularly bad, I visit http://icanhascheezburger.com. There is at least one thing that makes me smile EVERY time I visit. So,I try to share it with everyone. However, don't take my word for it. Use it and let me know what you

kansas city: Active Rain Saves the Day... and My Shoulders! - 06/04/09 03:08 AM
After a very brief stint on Wordpress, "Mr. Gotham's World" has moved to Active Rain thanks to Mr. Joel Kruse, resident Active Rain Guru and customer service wizard. Having spent countless hours, days and weeks searching for the "right" tool to help this blog thrive, I thought I would never quite find what I was looking for. Spending an enormous amount of time and money to maintain the site was about as appealing as showing a client 150 homes, in 100+ degree heat, while driving and H1 Hummer without A/C as gas prices hover around $7 a gallon. Adding insult to

kansas city: "Mr. Gotham's World" finally arrives in Kansas City - 06/03/09 11:23 PM
T-Minus... oh, wait! The countdown is over. Today marks the official debut of "Mr. Gotham's World "on Active Rain. During the past 10 or so days I have started more than 15 different posts searching for the "right" one to inaugurate this site. Some were funny. Some were smart. And, some were both funny and smart. However, nothing I wrote captured the enormity of the excitement, fear and pride that I am currently experiencing, so I decided to just briefly "shoot from the hip." The excitement and fear reflect my feelings about beginning and continuing this new

kansas city: T-Minus 10 Days and Counting... - 05/21/09 11:09 PM
On June 1, 2009 I am going to re-invent myself. Ten days from now I'm going to do something that will change my life and career forever... I'm going to officially start blogging. It's my 'mid-year resolution.' On the surface, that probably doesn't seem like a big deal. Blogging is just typing a few simple words a couple of times a week, right? Unfortunately, when people tell me "you should really start blogging" it evokes the same response as the phrases "you need a root canal," "you're being audited by the IRS" or "Congratulations, you're having sextuplets!" I PANIC! My heart
