Should Renters continue to pay rent??? - 12/31/07 01:49 AM
What would you do in this situation.
You have the listing - a short sale -- you know the owner is no longer making payments to the bank, and has no issues with the bank foreclosing on the property. You go to the property to take photos and meet with the renters. Yes, the renters are still paying rent, the rent is not being paid to the bank, the owner is pocketing the rent and not paying the mortgage. This is a 3 year old property and the renters have been there since day 1.

Manteca City Councils Decision - 12/18/07 01:23 AM
$100,000 allocated to Manteca foreclosure homes. The City of Manteca just voted to spend up to $100,000 to board up foreclosed homes, turn on the water so the grass doesn't die, mow lawns, etc. Read the story here.
While I applaud the City's efforts to maintain property values, is it the City's responsibilty or is it the property owners? Yeah, yeah, I know the owner is a bank and some banks DON'T do this -- but WHY NOT?
It's a catch 22. The City is trying to thwart complaints, maintain values, but could that money be better spend elsewhere? Hire someone to patrol, fine … (1 comments)

Are you home for the holidays or are you GOING home for the holidays?
I think I'm one of the lucky ones, I get to be home, my sister travels here with her family from Boston, my brothers will drive to my parents' home and we will all be together. For the first time in 13 years my entire nuclear family will be together for Christmas Eve.
As my kids are growing up, I wonder if they will ALL come here for the holidays or if I will go to thier homes and where will that be? I hope that they have Christmas with … (12 comments)

Foreclosures in Tracy, CA - 12/13/07 12:36 AM
Yes, foreclosures are up. Yes, people are losing their homes, yes the new is ALL over this information. Everytime I open the newspaper, turn on the news or listen to the radio all I hear is DOOM and GLOOM. But is it really all that bad?
Are their positives? Yes, for the first time in years housing is affordable in Tracy, California. I've heard laments for years about how young people can't buy in thier home town, this is no longer the case. It's the little things in life that make my day GREAT!
It's been 2 months since I dropped my laptop and broke the tip just like the one shown here. The silly thing is instead of just ordering a $15.00 part I waited, fiddled, piece mealed the current one back together, frustrating myself and others around me. Until one day -- last Thursday, it finally died, the tip broke -- that means NO LAPTOP! YIKES. I really like my laptop, I like sitting in the family room with my family with my laptop and my kids.....

1-888-995-HOPE Do you know what this number is for? Have you tried it? No it is not some silly scheme. It is the number of the US Housing Department, this is the phone number the President of the United States said to call if you need help with your mortgage. I've not tried it, and I'd love to hear what they say if you call it. I do know that there is plan in the works to FREEZE interest rates from adjusting for up to 5 years. WOW -- will that help?
