New Homes are still selling in Stockton and San Joaquin County - weekending 11/14/10 - 11/21/10 09:40 PM
There is no reason to reinvent the wheel....Jack does such a fabulous job of comparing new home sales.
Tracy, due to Measure A, has no new home sales until 2012.  There are some occassional fill lots that are allowed to be built.
Thanks Jack for giving us all these great details
Via Jack Mossman, The Nines Team in Stockton (The Nines Team Realty):
Over the past four weeks comparing new homes market areas in San Joaquin County, the week-to-week trend seems to remain the same.  The only "blip" is in Mountain House.
Manteca has added two new projects during the month which … (1 comments)

Ipad APPS - which one DO I NEED? - 11/21/10 09:24 PM
I was reading the post by Debbie Lynn TO Ipad or NOT to Ipad  and I got to thinking....
I have an iPad - hubby bought me the 32G for my birthday, yes I will never ever fill up the memory.
That was 3 months ago and I know I'm still not using it to it's fullest capacity.
I do know I've read more books in the past 3 months than the past 3 years.  I always have a book with me, since Kindle is loaded as an app.
I have games, Skpe, Dropbox, etc... but what can I do on … (1 comments)

When fireplaces are outlawed only outlaws will have fireplaces. - 11/21/10 09:03 PM
IT's not just San Joaquin County that has a 'check before you burn" and No Burn Days.  Yikes.
We are told on burn days to only burn Duraflame logs... I wonder who owns "duraflame"  Must be a pretty big lobby.  in the mean time, farmers burn all day any day (or so it seems).

Ok I'm guilty - purses always fit -- shoes usually do.... so I have plenty of each.
As my weight has flucated from pregnancy to just being old and lazy, my purses stil fit!
How about you - shoes or purses?
(Plus purses are like boxes you can put things in them.... and surprises can come in them....)

Selfish People Suck - 11/16/10 01:43 AM
Selfish People Suck  (I tried to think of another word, nothing else captured the sentiment.) Real Estate is NOT and Can NOT be a selfish business.  Not if you, as a REALTOR want to be in real estate for a sustainable amount of time. Real Estate can not be a selfish business if you, as a REALTOR want people to refer business to you. Real Estate can not be a selfish business if you want your colleagues to WANT to be in a transaction with you. Selfishness comes in many disguises in real estate.  Have you ever experienced any of these?  Did you recognize … (17 comments)

Secret Wedding Site Within 1 Hour of Tracy - 11/09/10 01:13 AM
Secret Wedding Site Within 1 hour-ish of Tracy, CA
I've lived in the Bay Area for 30+ years and I'm always surprised there are really awesome places I've not only never been, that I have never heard of.
Nestledown, is one of them.  This was the coolest place.  They do 90% Weddings and the other 10% the property is used for non-profit organizations only.
125 pristine acres nestled in the Santa Cruz mountains, exit Summit Road off of Highway 17.
Nestledown has a "barn", it's not a barn, it's a 2 story reception hall that has a man made lake … (8 comments)

Predatory or Protective? The Tale of the Buyer Broker Agreement - 11/08/10 07:30 PM
Predatory or Protective? The Tale of the Buyer Broker Agreement? You decide.... Once early in January of 2010 there was a young couple, Mr. & Mrs. Tracy  First Time Homebuyer.  They called Mr. Tracy Listing Agent wanting more information on a property he had listed.  They knew he had it listed because his sign was in the yard.   Mr.Tracy Listing Agent told Mr. & Mrs. Tracy First Time Homebuyer that he could not give them ANY information about the house for sale in Tracy, CA, nor would he show them the house until they signed some papers allowing them access … (63 comments)

66.9% Ain't Bad! That's the Homeownership Rate in the United States - 11/02/10 03:08 PM
I love the stats.  This certainly puts Home Ownership into perspective.  So... are you ready to buy a home?  Do you think owning a home is important?  Is owning a home a goal that you have?

Via Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance, Managing Broker/Branch Vice President):
Housing is dead!  No American wants to own a home anymore.  The American Dream is over.
At least that's what you'd think from listening to some of the recent media reports.
This sensational headline would certainly make you think so: Homeownership at lowest level in a decade

Who MAKES you the BEST you CAN BE? - 11/02/10 02:48 PM

Who Makes you the BEST you CAN BE?  How to reach the success you want?
How do you create more wealth, more success, etc?  Well you hang around with like minded people.
Aristotle Onasis once said that if he lost all his money he could recreate the wealth. To do that, the most important thing he would do is get in the presence of wealthy people.
He then explained why that is so very important. There were three reasons:#1) Wealthy people knew experts that could help you out with any project.#2) Wealthy people had money to finance your good ideas.#3) Wealthy … (3 comments)
