Razor clam digging at Ocean Shores, Washington is tentatively scheduled for February 6-8, 2009. Sharpen the end of your gun and reserve your hotel room. It should be another easy dig as low tides are during daylight hours. The best time to dig is an hour or two before low tide. Don't forget that you must keep the first 15 clams you dig no matter their size.
Remember that the beach is a state highway with a speed limit of 25mph. Yield to peds and stay off the sand near the water (clam beds.)

Our longtime friends from South Dakota, Dan and Linda Bartos and their son Brennan made their first visit to the beach at Ocean Shores last month. Brennan had never seen the Ocean before and kept telling his dad that he was going to surf when he arrived. Their trip happened to be scheduled the week we had a cold snap & snow and the temperature was about 20 degrees when we stopped at the beach.
