OLYMPIA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has announced plans for another razor-clam dig at Ocean Shores, WA in February, so long as marine toxin tests continue to show the clams are safe to eat.

Tentative digging days and tides:
Feb. 18, Friday - 6:33 p.m. (-0.9 ft.) Feb. 19, Saturday - 7:13 p.m. (-0.5 ft.) Digs shown above are scheduled on afternoon tides. No digging will be allowed before noon on any of these dates.

All diggers age 15 or older must have an applicable 2010-11 fishing license to harvest razor clams on any beach. Licenses, … (2 comments)

In early January, WDFW will release a tentative schedule of digging days in early 2011. In the meantime, here is a photo recap of clam digging on January 1, 2011.
The beach at Ocean Shores, WA was full of diggers on New Year's Day 2011.

It was chilly but the views were spectacular.

Clam diggers can ring in 2011 with a two-day razor clam dig at Ocean Shores over the New Year's holiday. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the series of evening digs after marine toxin tests showed that the clams on all five coastal razor clam beaches are safe to eat.

Opening dates and evening low tides for the upcoming dig are:
