So, as I wrote in my previous blog, besides being featured in a 6-page article in Where to Retire magazine, Country Living has asked me for photos of Sandpoint. They specifically wanted Main Street, but I let them know our main place of happenings is First Avenue. So, I took these pics this morning and sent them in to their New York headquarters.

Pretty cool huh! Country Living spent a couple of days here last fall, and we have been looking for the article ever since. They kind of headquartered themselves at Dish Home Cooking during their stay, and though I never came into contact with them, I received an e-mail Friday from the magazine asking me for pics.
They had some specifics they needed, but I also sent them the photographs below. It'll be interesting to see if they use any of them.

There are at least three ways to see the City and Lake Coeur d'Alene: one by helicopter and two by plane. I have been told these are smaller planes, but the tours are great; can't say about the chopper. The choices aren't limited to Lake Coeur d'Alene; Hayden Lake and several smaller bodies of water are minutes away.
Sandpoint Seaplane Service offers a tour around Lake Pend Oreille, but also can fly you over Lake Cocolalla, Twin Lakes, Spirit Lake, and the magnificent Priest Lakes. Lake Coeur d'Alene offers significantly more urban … (2 comments)

Festival at Sandpoint
These are some pictures of setting up and scenes from the last couple of years of the Festival at Sandpoint. This year, 2009, marks the 27th annual Festival at Sandpoint.
There is so much more that goes into producing such a large event. Besides running the event for two weeks with international stars appearing four nights a week, there is the wine tasting, other associated events, and the set up and break down takes days.

This last week did a bit of hiking above the Clark Fork River and Spring Creek and the views of the island of the estuary and Lake Pend Oreille were awe-inspiring.
