sandpoint restaurants: The Blue Heron Café near Naples, Idaho: Sandpoint Blog - 03/29/11 08:21 PM
The Blue Heron Café is this great little place almost halfway between Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint, Idaho. Now, you may think, had you ever passed this place not far from Naples, Idaho, "How can a café attached to a gas station be any good?" In fact, one review on Yelp gave it four stars, but wondered the same thing. While this yelper mainly liked the breakfast, I have had dinner there, and my chicken and dumplings for my last meal was the kind of homemade style that reminds one of grandma's house. That is what Chef Steve Holmes is shooting for.

sandpoint restaurants: Interview with Bab's Pizzeria: Sandpoint Blog - 01/14/11 06:58 PM
Bab's Pizzeria 1319 U.S. 2Sandpoint, ID 83864208-265-7992 Babs' Pizzeria in Sandpoint, Idaho Last Thursday I interviewed Babs from Babs' Pizzeria on my show Speak Up North Idaho on KSPT and KBFI as part of the North Idaho Talk Radio Network. Babs is participating in Dine Around Sandpoint, and was voted Best Pizzeria in Bonner County in 2010. I had a part-time job managing Dish Home Cooking last year, which was in the same complex as Babs. That's when I met this incredibly hard-working woman. Babs related how her background is Sicilian, and New York-style pizza is part of her heritage.

sandpoint restaurants: Interview with Cassandra Cayson of Forty-one South: Sandpoint Blog - 01/14/11 01:45 PM
Forty-One South Restaurant www.41southsandpoint.com 41 Lakeshore DrSagle, ID 83860(208) 265-2000 Forty-one South is a fixture in Sandpoint. It is also a restaurant seemingly in constant flux. Dr. Alex Verhoogen envisioned the site almost twenty years ago as the perfect location for a restaurant and small hotel. In 1993, he met his partner on Schweitzer Mountain and spent two days skiing together. Those were happy times. Many remember fond days of manager Bev Boronkay greeting guests at the door, Tawny pouring drinks in the bar. It was a great place: my favorite hangout. After some financial troubles, Glen Harvey bought the property

sandpoint restaurants: Secret Thai Cafe: Sandpoint Blog - 08/14/10 01:38 PM
So, on my show, North Idaho Business, broadcast on the Talk North Idaho radio network, I interviewed the Secret Thai Cafe last Tuesday. I had first encountered this couple of a Thai wife and American husband at last year's Festival at Sandpoint. They had been in the vendor booth next to Dish Home Cooking. I helped at the Festival as well as lending a hand at the Dish booth. We traded food with the Thai guys, and it was good, but I couldn't help but notice for every ten people served at the Dish booth, they served one. A little slow
