Is The Market Stabilizing? - 12/31/07 06:54 PM
So as the year draws to a close we get a really good piece of news from Lawrence Yun at the National Association of Realtors pointing to signs of the market stabilizing. 
Yun's figures show total existing-home sales - including single-family, town-homes, condominiums and co-ops - rising 0.4 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5 million units in November. This represents an increase although slight, from an upwardly revised pace of 4.98 million in October. We all travel from time to time and pass through airports without out a problem. However just spare a few moments to read what happens when circumstance conspire against you. 
My wife Diane travels for her business and recently had a bizarre and infuriating incident while travelling home from New York. Monthly sales figures show a really mixed bag of results. While the overall trend is down for both sales and prices, Some cities actually showed gains. So what does it mean? I believe it is too early to tell, but we may be seeing the start of something.

Are we working today.....Surely Not!! - 12/25/07 07:51 PM
I am one of the worst when it comes to working evenings, weekends etc when I should probably be resting but I draw the line once a year on Christmas Day everything stops, oh by the way this isn't working, it is relaxing ;-).
I think we should all do the same and just respect our families, loved ones and ourselves, afterall it can't hurt can it? As a professional Realtor the job can and does take you over and we need to take a deep breath and just turn our minds to other "more important" things for one day.

Christmas is nearly always a time to get loved ones together and reflect on the past year and remember the true values of Christmas. More than anything it is a time to put all the hurt and sad times out of our lives for one day. As we sat around opening our presents and watching the smiles on our daugters face my computer was busy recieving e-mails. With plummetting prices homes are once again in the reach of a whole group of buyers who were previously excluded due to affordability. Interest rates are still at very low rates, the FHA is introducing more and more programmes for first time, lower income and many other situations.
While there are a lot of attractive prices being offered as Short Sales my advice is to stay away from them and look for Bank Owned REO's.
