New at our VERO BEACH MUSEUM OF ART is the exhibition "WOOLIES:   A SAILOR'S ART,"consisting of 30 examples of BRITISH folk art from the mid-19th century will be on display.

What are "WOOLIES" , you ask:
"WOOLIES" are embroidered pictures of ships, seaports and distant ports created by sailors at sea.  They became adept at needlework throught the hours spent repairing sails and uniforms.  The art was easily stored under bunks, shipboard space being at apremium.
