What do you give your children, when you have nothing to give - 12/21/09 08:48 AM
Gone are the streesed days of completing a two page gift list!
We draw names and buy for one person and then enjoy it over a Christmas eve Chinese food dinner.  The rest of the family shows up Christmas day for the big meal.
It's the time spent together and the kind words that create the memories that are so much better than tearing through gifts that will soon be forgotten.
TIME spells L O V E!!

If Rip Van Winkle Woke up Today, Would he Buy a Home? - 12/20/09 04:41 PM
For Buyers this is nicely expressed as a complete truth.  The opportunities for Buyers today are unbeatable!  Joy
Via Ruth Vogt (LMB#100023827) WR Starkey Mortgage:
Most of us are familiar with the tale of Rip Van Winkle who falls into a deep sleep after drinking a mysterious brew. Ever wonder what HE might say if he woke up today after a ninety-nine year nap about homeownership? It might go something like this:
What? I can buy a home for 30% less today than if I'd woke up 3 years sooner?
What? Inventory is much, much greater today than it was 3 years ago?

We can't always pick up each call, but we will get back in the same day.  We understand that often there is no new update, but a courtesy response of I'm still in this with you, goes along way.
Thanks to Richard for posting our sentiments!

Pre-Approval Letters, Are They Helping or Hurting You? - 12/05/09 05:18 PM
There are systematic steps to be qualified to purchase a home.  Ken Crotts has spelled out a very good method in the second set of 6 steps.
Via Ken Crotts (Windermere Real Estate):
When you present your preapproval letter to the listing agent does it help, or hinder your chances of getting an accepted offer? Financing preapproval letters are widely dismissed by the real estate industry as not being worth the paper they are written on. The reason is there are no consequences for the loan officer who issues a preapproval letter and is unable to follow it up with a full approval. It's especially … (2 comments)

The Administration's Foreclosure Program - In Need of Major Changes - 12/01/09 08:43 AM
Kudo's to Claudette on a well thought out post.  Thanks for letting us share.
Via Claudette Millette - Metrowest Mass Exclusive Buyer Broker (The Buyers' Counsel):
With foreclosures still occurring in record numbers, the administration has announced that it will be making some changes to its "Home Affordable Modification Program."
The original $75 billion Treasury program was put into effect to help potential foreclosure victims by enticing the banks to create loan modification programs for those who needed them.  Under the plan, lenders who agreed to lower payments for troubled borrowers were to be paid $1,000 initially for each loan.  That was to be followed … (1 comments)
