The City's annual haunted house is scheduled for Friday, October 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 29 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coral Springs Gymnasium. The cost is $5 per child, $2 per adult.
Trick-or-treaters will wind through the various Haunted House rooms and then have a chance to play on bounce houses and slides. Costumes are encouraged. Trick-or-treaters will get their share of candy as they leave.

Keeping personal paperwork with account numbers, PIN numbers and other sources of identification could lead to identity theft. Avoid becoming a victim and bring any personal documents to the City's next Shredathon, where they will be shredded for free on site.

The Coral Springs Police Department is offering a self-defense program for women over the age of 13. RAD classes are free and are offered at the Coral Springs Public Safety Building. Upcoming classes will be held for four consecutive Tuesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting October 11.

Coral Springs is organizing their 23rd Annual THANKSforGIVING Event.  This outreach relies on community help to donate items for Thanksgiving baskets that go to families in need. Residents and business owners are asked to give to this worthy cause. Since 1988, over 4,064 baskets were made for local families.
Non-perishable items needed include: canned yams, mashed or flaked potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, canned corn and green beans, canned fruit and cookies. People may also give monetary contributions to the cause. A Fun Place to Play Hooky in Southeast Florida! - 10/03/11 07:55 PM
The phones were quiet for a Sunday.  I received a phone call from friends that said they were driving an hour north to Jensen Beach/Hutchinson Island and wanted to know if I wanted to join them.
That was a two second decision.  Come and get me I hollered!  Grabbed my netbook and cellphone in case I had to work while on the road.
What a beautiful day to enjoy friends by the water and delicious appetizers like Alligator tidbits and Conch Fritters, while listening to steel drums play island music.
