just for fun: My 26-Year Old Baby.....Happy Birthday Sweetie - 02/16/12 03:45 PM
This little guy....sweet baby face is 26 years old today. I love this picture, it was the day I really started living life. The day I truly fell in love. At 7:30am on February 16, 1986 I realized that nothing I had ever done before mattered at all; Not where I'd been, nor who I'd been with, nor what I owned, nor anything at all. I became a mommy that day! Since then, I've added 4 other sweet-loves to my life and each one has been as wonderful. Yet there is something magical in the first time

just for fun: A 110,428 Calorie Stadium Snack Display.....Oh Wow - 01/31/12 04:00 PM
Check out this video courtesy of the LA Times. Presented on behalf of "meaningless Internet spectacles," this is truly an amazing snack display. I think for my part, I'll go a bit smaller for our "Big Game" Party (Did you know you can't use the super word for commercial gain?). Although this has given me an idea for a cake...I think that's something I could pull off by Sunday. :) Enjoy the virtual weight gain! The Big Game Snack Food Stadium - Watch More Funny Videos

just for fun: After 24 Years.....I'm Off The Clock - 01/30/12 10:54 AM
It has finally happened...after 24 years. My youngest child left the house under his own power....well, our power, a Toyota Truck. I am no longer responsible for getting ANY child to school. No more carpool! It's been a long time since the morning was completely my own (although I did get up out of habit and try to make him breakfast). My husband and I raised 5 children. My oldest began preschool at about 2 years old. That was 24 years ago. Since then, I've been involved in some form of child-transportation. My step-kids went to school near

just for fun: Funny Things My Family Has Done This Week - 11/03/11 03:57 PM
I have a really funny family! And this is just some random things they have done this week. Daughter to me: "Hey mom, I brought you cantaloupe....it's from California so it's not deadly."Ah the days when we think our fruit is out to kill us. #3 Son: "How do you spell Paris in French?"mon dieu My #3 son wanted to call into a radio station. I kept walking by him and he was holding the phone. I asked him if he was on hold....he said "I think so there is a funny noise." So I picked up the phone...it was a

just for fun: Occupy Google.....A Cause We Can All Get Behind? - 10/20/11 11:12 AM
We are all hearing about the Occupy Wall Street....which has lead into "Occupy This" and "Occupy That," it has spread into many different cities, causes and categories. Ok So I like a party...ideally with better hygiene facilities. I don't see myself packing up the VW Bus and heading down with my knitted beanie...so I thought perhaps a virtual "Occupy" might be fun. How about Occupy Google? That's it....albeit rather Capitalistic, guess I'd make a pretty bad hippie. Why don't we grab our keypads and create some great blog posts to push those greedy Google-hogs off page one. This takes

just for fun: Random Thoughts For A Sunday....My Son Can Be So Odd - 07/17/11 04:22 PM
Did you watch Seinfeld? the hysterical comedy show from the 1990s? Oh we did....and do...my son and hubby in particular watch rerun after rerun, and it's still funny. So this blog....for you Seinfeld fans...is really a "blog about nothing." No better way to say it. My 15-year old son is enjoying his summer...he's in his Renaissance period. I know not every 15-year old boy HAS a Renaissance period, but mine does. As such he's reading about Michelangelo and Da Vinci and learning about that period, with the great hope his mamma will take him to Italy on her

just for fun: Things I Didn't Know I Had To Tell Clients.....But Do! - 06/29/11 03:17 PM
I read a great featured post today by Mike Cooper: Somebody Broke In and Painted My Listing!! Maybe you read it too? About a buyer whose agent gave them permission to go ahead and start painting before the close? Wow! Trouble is, that I've had these clients...have you? It brought back memories and I realized I had quite a list of things I didn't think I needed to tell clients....but did. Do not make repairs to a home you do not own yet Do not remove the sink in the guest bathroom before you move because "you really like it"

just for fun: Random Thoughts In My Head - 06/04/11 06:05 PM
This is my random thought blog post for this week. Nothing earth shattering, I'm sure. Actually it might be a running stream of comments. My first concern is our weather. It's a few days into June and our local mountains are expecting snow tomorrow. What? My car thermometer shows 57°. Maybe, maybe not....that thing doesn't seem too reliable...but it's close. Where is summer? Mammoth Mountain is keeping snow runs open now through July 4th weekend. Exactly what I think of as a perfect July 4th day....skiing. hmmmm I am also wondering about is what's happening with produce. Purple, orange and green

just for fun: Just For Fun: Do You Ever Move Just Too Fast? The Thai Salad Did Me In - 06/04/11 01:23 PM
I make a killer Thai Chicken Salad.....one of my favorite low-cal meals because I can load it with great tasting vegies and crunch. But.....sometimes I move too fast for my own good. Ok...so the picture is not quite an accurate picture of me, but I am typing with a bandage on one finger and I'm missing half a tooth....that darn salad got the best of me. Sounds like we were wrestling! Not quite! Part of the salad (recipe below) is chopped peanuts....just about a Tablespoon (50 calories). Well while finely chopping the nuts, I also chopped my finger. The wedding ring

just for fun: Finishing What You Start Might Not Always Be Fun - 05/30/11 09:19 PM
I've done lots of things today....Memorial Day. I've slept inI spent 3 hours off-roading with my husband in our jeepI took a napI sat in the spaI read my book about VeniceI worked on an offer for a listing of mine I had a great day...and before my hubby takes me out for dinner tonight, I'm writing my post for the May Challenge. I haven't given it much thought, nothing especially deep....but I committed to doing this, to myself and to the group, so here it is. Sometimes we don't want to complete things we start. Sometimes there are

just for fun: I Do My Best Thinking......... - 05/24/11 11:44 AM
I do my best thinking when I'm hiking. I am enjoying a few days in the mountains....working a bit too....but when I can start my day with a hike through the trails, it's a great day. I find that when I hit that first trail, I start to see things clearer. I find that things fall into perspective. What else could I possibly need in my day other than a walk in the woods? Nothing! I need nothing...and at that moment, nothing else matters! The sun is filtering through the oaks and spring colors and I'm just loving my

just for fun: The Fast Blog Post - 05/20/11 09:09 AM
I've been preaching that blog posts are pretty easy to write...and consistency is key. So I joined the 31 Day May challenge and today is the challenge. My son graduates today and I'm out the door in 15 minutes....so this is going to be fast. How? I'm just writing the conversations which pops in my mind. Ironically one of my first Active Rain leads came from a quick rambling post I wrote that had nothing to do with real estate. Today? Off to intimidate meet my ex-husband's fiance and see my dear son graduate Law School....I'm sure this will

just for fun: Why Does The 100 Calorie Bag Of Lay's Potato Chips Have 110 Calories? And Other Random Thoughts - 05/13/11 01:05 PM
Why Does The 100 Calorie Bag Of Lay's Potato Chips Have 110 Calories? And Other Random Thoughts Seriously? 110 Calories on a bag of 100 Calorie Lay's Potato Chips? To be fair...this was on a site which tells us calories, not on the bag itself, but ugh. My random thought post...watch out! If I hold my cell phone between my ear and my shoulder...is it "hands free"? Why can I answer the phone with my fax machine but not get a fax? I installed a brand new black ink cartridge and the printer won't recognize it....so is it time for a new

just for fun: The Two Minute Blog Post - 05/09/11 12:09 PM
When you are rushed and need to get a blog post off....yes, you know sometimes that's the case. (blah, blah, blah great content). We all do it...and sometimes they are just for fun, like this one. So how can you manage the Two Minute Blog Post? Simple. First....write a title. I cleverly thought of "The Two Minute Blog Post." Many great writers will tell you that the first title you come up with is often the best. Second....find a picture. Find something which will grab attention. Does it fit the theme? or amuse? or both....I mean, does ANYTHING say "Two Minute

just for fun: Did Active Rain Party Too Much On Cinco De Mayo? - 05/06/11 04:16 PM
I have tried a couple of times today to access my Active Rain Account. I imagine you have too! First Active Rain apparently "lost their keys" and then they apologized "oops that wasn't supposed to happen," and finally "we are aware of maintenance issues and are working to correct the problem and get the Active Rain Platform up and running as soon as we can"....or words to that effect. Hmmmmmm, seems suspicious to me. Yesterday was Cinco De Mayo and the amount of adult beverages (or at least virtual beverages) adorning the pages of Active Rain makes me think!

just for fun: My Parents Are Kind Of Funny People....And It All Works - 05/02/11 01:07 PM
My parents have been married for over 50 years. They are a perfect example of how wonderful marriage can be if we just accept the other as they are and enjoy them for themselves. This picture was taken at my son's wedding! I was thinking about Mother's Day and the many, many funny stories I have about mom...but the subtext is how my dad has handled them. My mother has embraced her "blond-ness" in her life. A brilliant woman who often does pretty silly things. Growing up the cousins used to come over and ask for "Bobbie stories." (we

just for fun: I Love A Job Where I Can Work Barefoot - 04/20/11 08:51 PM
I don't like shoes! The minute I walk in the door, sit in the car, or plop on the ground....off they come. As a result, my husband calls my car a "Shoe Palace." Under the driver's seat is a nice selection of shoes. Flats, pumps, boots....flip flops! So you can understand why it was a surprise to meet my clients today and find I had no shoes to choose from. Oh no! My first thought was "where are my boots"? I thought the shoe-burglar had hit me. And we are not talking about Prada here (remember...I don't like shoes).

just for fun: My Random Thoughts At The End Of A Long Week - 04/17/11 08:23 PM
I've read some rambling posts lately which I hear is inspired by our very own Bob Stewart. So this is my end of the week, rambling thought post. Not intended to be deep or even interesting. First thing that comes to mind as I'm watching the Knicks take a good lead over Boston..and miserably accepting the Lakers' loss...is DON'T BE OVER CONFIDENT. Not expanding on that thought...it doesn't need it. My next thought is to wonder if there is a reason there is a woodpecker pecking at my cabin....is that a bad thing? Why can't I get the

just for fun: Simple Instructions....Oh Really! - 03/21/11 11:22 PM
My sweet husband is sitting on the floor amid boxes and instructions for a new shelf from Ikea. My son really needed more storage and so we picked up one from the self-service aisle. Let's just say my son might have learned some new words tonight. :). Simple instructions were included....but.... I had originally thought about tying this into real estate, but every few minutes I need to go over to hold something, or bang something, or pull something out....so my thought process is a bit off. Just thought I'd drop by and say "hello"...and perhaps a

just for fun: Yes, Yes...This Is My Son.....We're So "Proud" - 03/20/11 12:50 AM
My group in the Master Minds Group is called the Gold Standard. I happened to mention this to my 15-year old son and he decided to use the Gold Standard as a topic for an English Presentation. Not our group...but the actual fiscal policy. Ok....that's good. But then the group thought that to make the point, they should all dress in Gold. And above you can see the result. Yikes!!! The batman bottoms didn't make the final cut, of course...he changed into Khaki pants. This was taken in our living room (you can see some of my Venetian Mask Collection).
