Existing Home Sales Fall, But Prices Rise - 01/29/10 02:37 PM
Existing-home sales fell as expected in December after first-time buyers rushed to complete deals during the months leading up to the original November deadline for the tax credit. However, prices rose from December 2008 and annual sales improved in 2009, according to the National Association of REALTORS® For the past several years there has been a lot of talk about where the "bottom" of the market is. In my interpretation, it may have been in November. This week NAR published data, quoted above, that shows prices beginning to rise. Interest Rates are Low - Matter of fact, they can't be much lower and most experts agree that as the economy shows signs of life, the rates will start to creep up. "Then there's Pittsburgh, which didn't have much of a housing bubble to begin with and is the only market projected to grow next year, up 0.41%" Did you read that! City of Pittsburgh Christmas Tree Recycling - 01/03/10 08:19 AM
If you got a real Christmas tree this year then be sure to complete the loop and recycle it now that it is time to take down the decorations and pack them away for another year. The City of Pittsburgh offers 2 options for recycling your tree in 2010. 1. Recycle your tree at the curb by leaving it out on your designated recycling day during the month of January. or 2. Take Your Tree to one of the City Drop-Off Locations between January 2 and January 30, 2010, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 2nd Division P.W. (East (0 comments)
Murrysville Christmas Tree Recycling Program - 01/03/10 08:07 AM
If you got a real Christmas tree this year then be sure to complete the loop and recycle it now that it is time to take down the decorations and pack them away for another year. The Westmoreland Conservancy sponsors 20 drop-off sites throughout Westmoreland County where you can take your tree. It will either be chipped into mulch and used to beautify community parks, or placed in natural areas to provide wildlife habitat. You can get the complete list here.
