santa clarita insurance: Santa Clarita insurance agent asks - Is now the time to get earthquake insurance again? - 11/24/07 11:09 PM
We have not had a major earthquake in southern California since 1994. So is now a good time to look into getting earthquake coverage? In California we have something called the CEA, which stands for California Earthquake Authority. All of the major insurance companies share the responsibility of insuring homeowners for earthquake damage. An earthquake can be devastating, so investigate the options and talk to your agent. … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: More people are on AR during the day - 11/05/07 04:57 PM
Even though it appears that there are more people logged in to AR during the day on Mondays through Fridays, it seems like they are more likely to comment on your blog if you post on the weekends. I guess that makes sense - people are busy during the week and even though they may take the time to read your post, they are just too involved in what they are doing to make a comment on it. I will explore this further and get back to you with my findings. … (3 comments)

Selling and servicing insurance in Santa Clarita, or anywhere for that matter, is a full time venture. If your homeowner's or auto insurance agent is just moonlighting by selling insurance you may be in for a surprise when you have a claim or want to renew your policy. Make sure that the person you entrust your home, family, and business to is there for you on a regular basis.
I am a Farmer's Insurance agent first and foremost. When I am not in my office I am with my family or involved in my community. Call me anytime with your insurance needs … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Is Santa Clarita Homeowner's Insurance too accessible for home owners? - 09/23/07 12:07 PM
I am a Farmer's Insurance agent in Santa Clarita, California. It is fairly easy for a homeowner to apply for and get a policy through Farmers or any other company here in Santa Clarita. But is it too easy?
Many people do not realtze that it is a priviledge to have a good, solid insurance policy that will cover them against a loss to their home and its contents. Even though your lender requires fire insurance that does not mean that they guarantee you a good policy and a good agent. Contact me at (661) 288-2001 if you have any questions about … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Santa Clarita Insurance ~ Homeowner's and Renter's Insurance - 09/16/07 05:42 PM
Everyone seems to be aware that they need homeowner's insurance because it is required by the lender. But what about renter's insurance? The majority of people who are currently renting or leasing a home or condominium have not investigated the reasons for obtaining such a policy.
If there is damage to your personal effects due to theft, fire, water damage or other catastrophe, the owner of the property is not liable. A renter's insurance policy will cover all of your belongings should you suffer a loss. It can be good for "peace of mind" and chances are likely that you will need this type of … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Santa Clarita Insurance - Homeowner's Insurance in the United States - 08/22/07 07:38 AM
One of my clients recently returned from Finland, where homes are built to last for several hundred years. In the United States we base our average life of a structure on approximately sixty years. Would homeowner's insurance rates be different here if our homes were intended to last for centuries instead of decades?
I do not believe that it makes a difference when it comes to insuring your home against fire, theft and the full range of perils. But what about maintenance of a home that was built two or even three hundred years ago?
Of course, things like plumbing, electrical wiring and … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Santa Clarita Insurance Blogging and SEO - 07/26/07 12:43 AM
I have been posting to my blog and my website blog for a little over a month now. The results are great and people can find me on the internet. But when I was reading Christine Ethridge's post it made me think about article writing. Connie Ragen Green does some marketing for me, and when she wrote an article about homeowner's insurance in Santa Clarita and published it on one of the article directories, that article became #1 on Google. She also insists on "pinging" all of her posts, even though others here on ActiveRain told her that didn't do any good. … (1 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Santa Clarita Auto Insurance has a history with Farmer's Insurance - 07/11/07 01:11 PM
Farmer's Insurance was started by two men with connections to the rural community. These men were John C. Tyler and Thomas E. Leavey. They believed that farmers should receive preferred rates on their auto insurance because they were less likely to be involved in an accident.
The same might be said of residents of Santa Clarita. We are in a safer area in this section of Los Angeles county, and even though our population is growing we are still less likely to be involved in an accident. Do you think that insurance companies should give preferred rates to people who live in … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Is Santa Clarita homeowner's insurance really less expensive? - 07/06/07 11:28 PM
One of my clients asked me why her homeowner's insurance cost so much less in Santa Clarita than it did previously when she lived in the San Fernando valley. Her home there was similar in square footage, but had been built in 1965. The home she purchased last year in Saugus is new. She thought that the price of homeowner's insurance was based solely on location.
I explained to her that insurance companies take many things into account when rating an area and a home. A brand new home will always receive a discount. Other factors, such as roofing material, crime rate and grafitti … (0 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Are you part of your community? - 06/10/07 12:46 AM
I am part of the greatest community in the world, Santa Clarita. I have been blessed by being involved with some of the charitable groups that are an important part of the reason that Santa Clarita is such a special city. Tonight I was at a fundraiser for the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club. This group ensures that the young people in our city have a place to spend time, facilities to strengthen their minds and bodies, and role models to guide them to a bright future.
This is just one of many charities here in Santa Clarita. To read … (2 comments)

santa clarita insurance: Click it or Ticket? - This Farmer's agent got the ticket - 06/06/07 09:41 PM
I was on my way to Central Park in Saugus for the Rotary Club's pancake breakfast. I stopped to pick up sausage and butter at Smart and Final over on Lyon's Avenue and had just got back into the car when another Rotarian called me. I answered my cell phone, didn't buckle up, and the next thing I saw was the flashing red lights behind me.
The officer ticketed me and then told me that the ticket would not count on my insurance record as a moving violation. I am an insurance agent here in Santa Clarita and it is my job … (4 comments)
