ca: What Baby Boomers Should Know - 05/09/08 09:39 PM
If you are at least 62 years young or older, reverse mortgage may be for you. Reverse Mortgages allow homeowners to convert the equity in their home to cash while retaining ownership and not making any house payments as long as you live in the house.
Property taxes and homeowner insurance are still the responsibility of the homeowner, to pay, though.
Hope you enjoy this little video that we can all relate to… and if not now, you will soon be able to relate, trust me!
In order to qualify for a reverse mortgage you must have paid … (12 comments)

ca: Sacramento...Have You Heard? - 12/01/07 12:21 PM
Sacramento County is paying attention to the air quality and the health of the residents.
Starting Dec. 1, 2007 if you have a wood-burning fireplace in your house you will be restricted on when you can burn.
This will include all of Sacramento County and unincorporated areas of Sacramento County as well as the cities of Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Isleton Rancho Cordova and Sacramento.
Homes burning wood are the largest single source of Sacramento County's air quality problems.
There will be days when the County will issue a "no burn" starting December 1, 2007. It's important to comply as the first offense will … (1 comments)

ca: Foreclosures in California Will Be Reduced! - 11/22/07 04:26 PM
Good News for Real Estate is here! Finally there is hope for Homeowners with adjustable real estate loans...keep reading!
Happy Thanksgiving! There is some good news for those facing Foreclosure in Real Estate for the Sacramento area and all over California for that matter.
This week, Governor Schwarzenegger met with 4 of the largest loan servicers who are servicing subprime loans. The Governor asked these loan servicers to voluntarily agree to NOT adjust mortgage rates on their subprime loans which constitute 25% of their real estate loans.  California rates twice the National Average in Forecosures. This is having quite an impact on our economy here in California.
The four lending loan … (85 comments)

ca: Best Kept Secret in Sacramento-River Park - 11/07/07 08:58 PM
Ever wondered what some of the secret neighborhoods are in Sacramento? I'm about to tell you about a community that many have no idea about. It is located off of H Street ... here's a map to give you the exact pin point of where River Park is by Google Maps.
As you can see the American River is quite an asset to this community and is accessible by the residents of River Point.
When you drive into River Point it is easy to see why people like it here. The homes are all different, no tract homes here. Neighbors are out walking their … (6 comments)

ca: Sacramento 7th in the Nation for Foreclosures - 10/06/07 10:48 AM
The Sacramento Bee, highlighted a family who lost their home recently to an adjustable rate mortgage. This is common place with many home owners today all over the country and especially here in and around Sacramento County. Sacramento County ranks 7th in the Nation for Foreclosures.
Many of the adjustable rates are resetting to 7, 8 and 9 percent interest. Hello....something needs to be done, here!
As an example, a family whose house payment was $950 per month, now struggles with a payment of $3,307. With an monthly income of $2,200...there's no way!
Makes you wonder why a Lender couldn't figure that out when throwing dumping these … (7 comments)

ca: Real Estate Market Statistics for El Dorado County in California - 09/09/07 02:33 PM
El Dorado Homes Sold from October 2006 through August 2007 is provided here by a bar chart. Looks pretty good when you look at the chart, doesn't it?
What the chart doesn't show are the homes that were for sale during that time that didn't sell.
There were 1, 599 homes for sale in August 2007 and as you can see, only 148 homes sold in August. What does that say to you? In my opinion, if a seller, homeowner does not have to sell, you shouldn't be on the market. The old supply demand theory...you remember.
Each month I provide the Real Estate … (1 comments)

ca: Protect Your Home Buyer - 09/06/07 09:11 AM
Just like the spider (isn't that the biggest spider who've ever seen?) waiting for its prey...I learned something today that is happening in Southern CA and may reach our area. Don't be caught unaware...just in case your Realtor is not familiar with this new practice...
Here in the Sacramento and surrounding areas we have Title Companies to handle our Escrow when a house sells. That's where you typically go to sign all the papers on your house that you are selling and when buying a home.
In Southern CA, there are two separate entities...Escrow Companies and Title Companies. And therefore seems to me to be twice the … (19 comments)

ca: Treat Your Home Like a New Born Baby! - 08/27/07 10:57 AM
Congratulations to all of the First Time Home Buyers!
This past week, Tabitha and Jacob moved into their new Beazer home in Natomas. It was a pleasure working with you both and getting the very best deal for the two of you. Who says you don't need a Realtor to represent you when dealing with a Builder? That statement wouldn't hold water with the two of you, would it?
And to Cheryl and David, enjoy your new home in Elk Grove, CA. It was a long time coming but it is yours and the excitement I saw in both of your faces was … (4 comments)

ca: Home Buyer in Sacramento by Active Rain Referral - 08/24/07 04:23 PM
What a day yesterday was, a call on my cell phone from the Remax Gold office letting me know that my check from a recent sale last week was ready for pick-up.
The secretary said, "oh by the way...there are the most extraordinary chocolate covered strawberries delivered to you, and everyone is eying them...don't know how long they will last!"
What a surprise to enter the office to find a silver platter with beautifully decorated strawberries from Shari's Berries in Sacramento.
I couldn't imagine who would send me this array of decadent goodies. There was a ribbon attached to the bow that read "The … (20 comments)
