real estate: A Gentle Reminder - 10/02/08 10:39 AM
Real Estate is a business of communication. Home Buyers and Sellers need direct and thorough communication in order to understand what the process of buying a house, condo, business opportunity or land. However, in this day and age of Tweeting, emails, text messages and cell phones sometimes the tackle message is over looked. Just last week I personally received a beautiful card with a hand written note inside from an Active Rain member I don't even know. An article that I had written, Sometimes a Realtor Needs to Give A Hug touched her and she wanted me to know how much she appreciated

real estate: The Fox Has Been in the Hen House and Still Is - 09/29/08 11:39 AM
It seems the fox has been in the real estate house for a long time. Now, after all the damage in real estate we are looking at bailing the fox out. While on the hens are suffering, lost their hen house, the fox get a nice retirement check with a bonus and the rest of them are still out there targeting the hens. Just a little memory of mine back in the day when reading children's books and yet oh so true today. I've read blogs where agents feel sorry for the banks and make excuses for their delays in replying

real estate: Should EVERYTHING Be Aired in Public? - 02/18/08 10:01 AM
Recently I became familiar with a website that I find questionable and would like to have your honest, professional opinion about. Of course, I realize that there are all kinds of strange, bizarre websites out there in blogosphere world and some may come and go... Sacramento Channel 3 news reported on a website that ultimately could have a devastating result on neighborhoods, in my opinion. Some may feel it is a joke. Some may think it's good to let your feelings out no matter what. The website for reporting a rotten neighbor, in my opinion is an irresponsible maneuver on the part

real estate: Has the Bubble Burst? - 01/18/08 08:49 AM
The television is jumping with words of recession. President Bush today is scheduled to endorse his plan to stimulate the economy. Supposedly, the President wants $800 for a single person and $1600 for married couples along with tax breaks to be implemented right away to stave off more economical problems. Now, what would you do with your $800 or $1600? With businesses closing and Christmas sales not being what businesses needed for their bottom line, President Bush thinks that by giving the American citizen a rebate, we will put that money back into businesses to help thwart off more closures. Some of the business

real estate: What's In, What's Not for 2008 - 01/15/08 02:00 PM
Home owners have you been wondering what is IN for housing trends for 2008? Glamour is returning but only if it's subtle and with exotic veneers according to lead design consultant Davis Remignanti. Oversized furniture will be replaced with scaled down versions that are more in proportion to houses. A very hot trend is large scale patterns in fabrics and floor and wall coverings. Black and white is in with accent colors for a chic look. Accent colors this year are "spice-inflected." These colors are: carnelian flax russet acid green blue is making a strong comeback Reflective materials like chrome, mirrors and mercury glass for accent pieces are

real estate: What Do YOU Think? - 01/15/08 01:48 PM
Have you ever had enough quiet time to contemplate? Do You ever wonder about things and how others view them? Well, just the other day, while in my Jacuzzi, I had a strange thought. And I can't seem to shake it, so I thought I'd ask if your ever thought of this and what you think about it. If you live in an area where there are a lot of short sales, this is for you. What do you think neighbors around a short sale that didn't sell think of the Realtor who had the property listed? And if you are in an area where there are

real estate: Do You Thank the Sellers? - 01/15/08 12:36 PM
This weekend I showed homes in Fair Oaks, CA which is in Sacramento County, to a home buyer. We've had some pretty amazing storms which left quite a mess throughout the Sacramento Valley. With winds gusting over 60-70 miles per hour, this left trees uprooted and broken branches everywhere. I was amazed at how the home owners quickly managed to clean up their properties for the showings. It was obvious from looking at the neighborhoods that everyone had suffered some type of damage. So, a big "thank you to all of the Sellers in Fair Oaks, CA for working like the dickens to get

real estate: Shock Factor Works - 01/13/08 01:17 AM
Yesterday I came upon something that was a great marketing effort by the Listing agent and at the same time a very confused public. I called a Realtor friend of mine to see if she wanted to meet me for dinner after I finished showing property since I would be near her home. She laughed and said that she was showing property over around my home. Both on opposite sides. I digress... The kicker was that she was going to show a house in Elk Grove that was only $184,000 with a little over 1800 sq. ft. I told her she must be mistaken. Surely, this

real estate: As A Realtor Are You Transparent? - 01/10/08 03:10 PM
Days of Cheating on MLS at least in the Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer County are Coming to an end. Recently, I read Here we go again! DOM - CDOM - Leased & Ative? What the heck?!? by Laurie Manny and was disheartened that we still have those agents who will reduce their integrity in the name of selling a listing. What these agents don't realize isthey would still sell by being transparent. This generation is beyond being fooled by the shenanigans of a agent who is looking for a way around the system. Well, I left my comment for Laurie on her post and

real estate: Do You Over Water? - 01/09/08 11:19 AM
Do YOU see the white spots on this fence? Many times I see this on fences throughout the Sacramento area. Water and wood don't mix well together...decay and weakness are a fate waiting to happen. It always surprises me that homeowners are surprised when a storm brings a fence down. No point in replacing a fallen fence if you don't change your watering habits. Over spraying and over watering is not only a pinch on your pocket book but it is detrimental for the endurance of fencing. It doesn't matter if the "good neighbor" on the other side adheres to the principle of proper watering. The home

Good News for Real Estate is here! Finally there is hope for Homeowners with adjustable real estate loans...keep reading! Happy Thanksgiving! There is some good news for those facing Foreclosure in Real Estate for the Sacramento area and all over California for that matter. This week, Governor Schwarzenegger met with 4 of the largest loan servicers who are servicing subprime loans. The Governor asked these loan servicers to voluntarily agree to NOT adjust mortgage rates on their subprime loans which constitute 25% of their real estate loans. California rates twice the National Average in Forecosures. This is having quite an impact on our economy here in California. The four lending loan

If you own a home in the Sacramento area, you need to pay attention to this article. real estate: What A Great Place to Live in Sacramento - Land Park - 11/14/07 07:49 PM
Take a tour of Land Park which is just a smidgen south of Downtown Sacramento right off Broadway and the historic Tower Theatre. Don't miss eating at the Tower Cafe before heading into Land Park. Land Park is known for its tree-lined streets and homes of character and charm. This is an area that is a testament to why Sacramento is called the "City of Trees." Because I have so much to say about Land Park and what it has to offer I will break this article into a two part series. Last week, I showed a home buyer relocating from Georgia, homes in
