Interesting question. Many Realtors will bad mouth these flat fee MLS listings and say that nobody will show them because of the extra work involved. Kind of like an illegal boycott. But what is the truth? How well do they really sell?
Well here are some real numbers based on what our office has done in the last 12 months - 12/1/2009 to 11/30/2010 - regarding just our flat fee MLS only listings.

I don't know if anybody listened to Clark Howard's radio show yesterday. He did a segment on the recent lawsuit settlement between the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the U.S. Department of Justice. He went so far as to call NAR a "cartel" on his radio show. Pretty strong words.
The bottom line is that he was happy to hear that finally NAR has recognized (although a decade too late and at the threat of heavy fines) that alternative model real estate brokerages are becoming more and more commonplace in our capitalistic society.
