hud properties: New HUD Secretary appointed - 04/18/08 04:48 PM
The Bush Administration appointed a new Secretary of HUD today. The new Secretary Steve Preston was previously in charge of the Small Business Administration a/k/a the SBA and before that the Servicemaster Company which is the franchiser for American Home Shield and various contractor companies.

hud properties: HUD owned homes - still some good deals - 03/08/08 02:13 PM
Over the last few years, FHA mortgages became very rare so there were few HUD-owned homes that came up for sale.  HUD homes are the result of an FHA mortgage that gets foreclosed.  Now as FHA mortgages have once again gotten popular, the inventory of HUD homes will eventually increase.
