The COVID-19 Virus has caused several events to be canceled, but Middletown, CT has found away to continue one of its most popular events. Next weekend is one of the last car shows for the year around here. The Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Old Saybrook 2nd Annual Classic Car Show, Sept 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Old Saybrook Shopping Center, Old Saybrook, CT.

We are into Car Show Season, and there have been a number of car shows already. Most of the car shows have a mixture of antique and classic cars, but at the Belltown 2017 Antique Car Show On August 6th the cars all the cars are considered antique.

Car shows are one of my favorite things to do in the Summer, and over the Summer there will be several of them. I will be posting a blog for each of them throughout the Summer. Today is the 2016 Middletown High School The Fast & The Furriest Car, Truck, & Bike Show, in Middletown, CT. This is the only local car show this year which will include Cars, Trucks, and Bikes that I am aware of.
The last car show I went to at Middletown High School a few years ago they had some fantastic looking cars there which you can see in the pictures below. Today's car show should be even better with the addition of Trucks and Bikes.

Tomorrow one of the last two car shows for the year around here is being hosted by the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce. This car show will be the Old Saybrook 1st Annual Classic Car Show from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Old Saybrook Shopping Center.
This car show was actually scheduled to take place earlier this year on June 5th. But because of bad weather it was canceled. Memorial Day Car Show is only in its fourth year, but it is a must go-to car show for classic car lovers. Yesterday I went to what most likely will be the last Car Show for the year. This Car Show was at the Middletown High School in Middletown, CT. and it was suppose to be a large one, but with the threat of rain many of the cars did not show up.

I love Classic Cars, and have enjoyed going to a couple of Car Shows this summer. But as the cold and snow start to arrive the Car Shows will come to an end.
The Middletown High School Car Show is one of the last opportunities that I will have to catch one final Car Show for the Year. The High School has a huge parking lot that is perfect for a Car Show, and should draw lots of great old classics (and no I don't mean me even though I will be there).

We had a Car Show this past Wednesday on Main Street in Middletown, CT. It was the 15th Annual Car Show that we have held on Main Street, and there were several cars lined up and down Main Street as you can see from the picture above.
Besides the many cars that brought back some great memories for me, there were food vendors with lots of great food to enjoy. It was a beautiful warm clear day that was just perfect to walk around and enjoy these classic cars.

The 7th Annual E.J.K. Car Show is being held on Saturday June 2nd in the Xavier High School Parking Lot, in Middletown, CT, on Randolph Road. In the past years this Car Show has always attracted many of the great classic cars. I am looking forward to seeing some of my al time favorites, and since the show is virtually within walking distance from my house, I can walk there and not have to find a parking space.
