first time: My First Loan From ActiveRain!!! - 03/31/07 01:57 PM
This month has been one of a couple of firsts for me here on ActiveRain.  Earlier in the month I met my first ActiveRain member since I first started blogging in September of last year, and posted a blog about it “My First ActiveRain Encounter”.  Right after this I had my second first here on Active Rain.
Three weeks ago I got an e-mail from a First Time Homebuyer here in Connecticut who was looking to purchase a Condo.  She had heard about CHFA Loans for First Time Homebuyers and went on the internet to get more information about them.  In … (48 comments)

first time: My First ActiveRain Encounter!!! - 03/12/07 07:10 AM
I have been a member of ActiveRain since September of last year, and I have had the opportunity to talk on the phone to a few of the members that I have met here on AR.  I have enjoyed several conversations with Linda Davis, and have talked to TLW aka “The Lovely Wife” and to her lovely husband Broker Bryant a couple of times, as well as Eli Magen.  But today I finally met another AR member face to face.
Tom  Burland posted a blog on Friday stating that he was doing an Open House today in Killingworth, CT, which is … (72 comments)

first time: First Time Homebuyer Seminars…..Part #4. - 01/14/07 01:03 PM
In the first Post of this series “First Time Homebuyers Seminars…..Part #1.” I gave an introduction into the “First Time Homebuyer Seminars” that we at McCue Mortgage, started to promote in September of 2006. This is a different concept in how these Seminars have been done in the past, and so far they have been well received. The second Post of this series “First Time Homebuyers Seminars…..Part #2.” I covered the costs involved in purchasing a home, and presented questions for home buyers to consider as to how expensive a home they can afford to purchase. “First Time Homebuyers Seminars…..Part #3” … (21 comments)

first time: First Time Homebuyer Seminars…..Part #2. - 01/08/07 07:48 AM
In the first Post of this series “First Time Homebuyers Seminars…..Part #1.” I gave an introduction into the “First Time Homebuyer Seminars” that we at McCue Mortgage, started to promote in September of 2006.  It is a different concept in how these Seminars have been done in the past, and so far they have been well received.  In this Post I will start to describe what we present, and discuss with “First Time Homebuyers” at these Seminars.
The first thing that I do at these “First Time Homebuyer Seminars,” is to simply ask the “First Time Homebuyer” present, do they really … (22 comments)

first time: First Time Homebuyer Seminars…..Part #1. - 01/06/07 03:57 AM
Customarily “First Time Homebuyer Seminars” are conducted by a group of Real Estate professionals, Realtors, Loan Officer, Attorneys, and Home Inspectors. Each one makes a presentation for about 15 to 20 minute on their area of expertise. These Seminars are advertised by everyone involved in the presentation, to their clients, and attendance is usually between 4 to 30+ people. These Seminars are advertised as educational, and usually held at a neutral location, like a hotel, library, Town Hall, Communities Center, Church, or restaurant. I have been a participant in many of these Seminars and have been successful doing them.
However, in … (52 comments)

first time: Do You Remember Your First Experience In Your Real Estate Career??? - 12/23/06 06:07 AM
Things that we experience for the “First” time tend to be everlasting memories.  The first birthday that we are able to remember, first day of school, first best friend, first fight, first date, first kiss, first car, first accident, first speeding ticket, first house, birth of your first child, well I think you get the picture.  But there is one “First” that I did not mention that I will also never forget, and that is my first loan.
I remember that right after I became a Loan Officer, and before I came out of training, a friend of mine approached me … (55 comments)

first time: First Impressions - 10/10/06 10:12 AM
Realtors tell me that a number of Loan Officers call on them during the week, especially those that they are not doing business with and who are hoping to get some of their referrals.
My question is, how much of a factor is the first impression that they make on you play into your decision on weather or not you would ever consider referring one of your Buyers to him or her?
How much of that first impression is based on appearance.  By appearance I don’t mean physical looks, though I guess that could be a factor, but more the way … (5 comments)
