alabama: Gulf Shores Condos Sold Units / Active Listings Analysis - 08/19/09 10:01 AM
We have seen activity pick up along the Alabama Gulf Coast. There remains a large inventory but the number of sales has been increasing. I have analyzed data from our local MLS system for both sales and active listings located in the Gulf Shores area for Gulf Front or Beach Side condominiums. This analysis includes areas of Gulf Shores such as East Beach, West Beach, and the Fort Morgan area. Condo complexes such as the Beach Club, Plantation, and The Indies are located in the Fort Morgan area. Please review the table below.

alabama: GO Zone Properties - South Alabama - 10/04/07 01:41 AM
The Gulf Opportunity Zone Act, known as the GO Zone, has been in effect for two years.  I thought that I would take a look at its affect on the Mobile County housing and real estate market.
There has been a tremendous response locally in Mobile County to the available accelerated depreciation benifits for investors buying property in the GO Zone and putting them into the rental program.  I can not speak for my neighbors to the west in Mississippi and Louisiana or to my north in the other counties in Alabama that are located in other areas affected the GO Zone.  In … (0 comments)

alabama: August MLS Statistics for Alabama Gulf Coast - 09/15/07 02:33 AM
We have ran August's MLS statistics for both Mobile and Baldwin County. The sales numbers in our South Alabama area took a dip from July's sales numbers both in number of sales and median selling price. Historically August real estate sales has been slower than July because most families want to be settled before the new school year starts. Last year, we saw the numbers rise in August but it was anomaly when looking at historical data.

alabama: GO ZONE alliance launches website - 03/25/07 01:52 AM
In December of 2005 Congress enacted legislation to spur economic growth by encouranging investment in the areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina.  This legislation was called the Gulf Opportunity Act.  The areas affected by the legislation is called the "GO ZONE".
Realtors are not experts on the tax law and its direct implications to our customers tax returns.  We advise our customers to check with a tax professional whether that be a lawyer or accountant.
