Bluegrass Music again on Saturday Night - 06/25/10 10:17 AM

If you did not make the first night of Bluegrass last week, come this week.  Saturday night. Bring your fiddle and bow or come dance a jig.  We are having live music at the Hillbilly Field starting about 8PM and continueing till the muscians quit and go home.

Bluegrass music at Mountain Rest - 06/19/10 01:44 PM
The bluegrass music starts again in Mountain Rest on June 19th. Bring your guitar, fiddle or whatever on up to the Mountain Rest Hillbilly Day grounds. The picking will start and 8PM and go till everyone goes home. Our Mountain Rest pickers have been featured in the National Geographic Magazine twice. Everyone is welcome, bring a chair and enjoy the music of the mountains.
Directions: Highway 28 from Walhalla, stay on 28 at Jct with 107, Left on Verner Mill Road. Start looking for a parking place. Music will be in the new pavilion on the left.

Walhalla, SC Free Concert Tonight June 18th - 06/18/10 10:42 AM
The Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corp will perform a free concert tonight starting at 7 PM  at the Walhalla Football Stadium on Razor Lane. The parking around the school is limited so you will want to come early for a good seat.

Whitewater Falls, Salem SC - 06/15/10 11:04 AM

Whitewater Falls drops from North Carolina into South Carolina. This is the highest waterfalls in our area.  The tumbling and churning of the water helps to produce some of the cheapest electricity in the south east. 
The falls tumble into the Jocassee Hydro station which is owned by Duke Energy.  Once the water leaves the hydro station it  flows into Lake Jocassee and then to Lake Keowee and on to Lake Hartwell, part of the Savannah River system. 
Whitewater Falls one of 80 waterfalls in Oconee County. Most are on National Forest or state lands so they have good trails.  Whitewater … (0 comments)
