Totally useless but o so FUN! - 04/29/11 06:49 PM
Totally useless but o so FUN!
Life is ever changing but there are some things that just keep bringing a smile to my lips!

Today I enjoyed one of the best "Southern Treats" ever....if you guessed a MOON PIE
and DR PEPPER    -   then you must have a smidgen of "southerness"in you. (I  made up that word but it fits so don't give me any grieve about it not being in the Webster dictionary).
Forget the calories.....remember how you felt as a kid  when this treat was offered to you.  (and yes, I know that RC cola is a … (6 comments)

Business as Usual.....BUT! - 04/26/11 06:57 PM
Business as Usual.....BUT!
Change happens whether we want it to or not.  The economy has made change happen to our business....we closed our office and moved back to the house.  For 10 years we succeeded with our small real estate firm in our home and then moved it to a stand alone office for 3 years so it's not as through this is a new adventure.
To succeed you have to measure the money you're taking in vs. what's being paid out....and yep-the paying out part got us.  So to our clients its business as usual....BUT the address has changed.

Yummy....Neighborhood Supper Club! - 04/24/11 06:44 AM
Yummy....Neighborhood Supper Club!
What fun...a group of n'bors from two local neighborhoods in Central Austin Texas has this "loosely" n'borhood potluck supper club.

The only criteria is that you be human!  Yep, you don't even need to live in the n'borhood to attend - if you frequently drive through you're considered a neighbor.  Gotta love how Texans define "neighbor".
Once a month someone host, others bring favorite dishes and then the fun starts!  You never know what might be in that Pyrex dish or under the foil but it will be delicious.
I came away with three potential … (9 comments)

What's special about your home? - 04/23/11 06:54 PM
What's special about your home?
I don't travel to other countries but I do travel around our great USA!  One of the things that really surprised me when I first got into real estate was being told that there were "3 season homes" in the Northeast.  What??
Now I'm not stupid but this just didn't make sense to me....why would you buy a home that you could only live in for 3 seasons?  And who gets to choose the seasons?

So what's special about your home?  Does it have "things" that aren't evident to a buyer?  And might those … (2 comments)

Hey Consumer....Can We Talk (#2) - 04/20/11 01:29 AM
Hey Consumer....Can We Talk (#2)
Did you know that as Realtors we can give you "general real estate advice" that will work most anywhere in the United States?
Did you know that as Realtors we have a duty to treat everyone fairly?
Did you know that as Realtors we can help you find a good agent anywhere in the USA?
Did you know that your lender might not be able to help you if you are living in another state than the one where your lender is located?
Did you know that "being local matters"?
Did you know your choice of … (8 comments)

Funnest thing I've seen in a while! - 04/13/11 10:08 PM
Today I had an opportunity to go to a Home Depot Store in Little Rock, Arkansas.  This isn’t unusual as I shop at the ‘Depot frequently … I am in Real Estate you know and Realtors hang out at these places to pick up clients!!
Just as I pulled into the parking lot, a woman walked in front of me with a paper sack hat on her head to shield her from the sun… she was shopping the garden section so I can only assume this was the bonnet of the day for her.  I’m still laughing at the image.
Wished … (18 comments)

Vacation Time has arrived for this Austin Texas Realtor! - 04/10/11 10:20 PM
Vacation Time has arrived for this Austin Texas Realtor!
I’m gonna try and keep up with reading, commenting and maybe a post or two while gone on vacation. But if you miss me this week try looking either in the red dirt around Hot Springs Arkansas where I will be “mining” for quartz crystals

or enjoying the Arkansas Derby (it’s what I call the poor person’s Kentucky Derby).

I get to enjoy nature and animals while re-charging my energy for the upcoming REAL ESTATE SEASON.
Hurrah..I’ve made it to the State of Arkansas without mishap!

Push the SUGGEST button! - 04/08/11 08:43 AM
Push the SUGGEST button!
Active Rain blogs have been my main source of real estate news since January.  Now don't get me wrong, I read local, regional and state news pertaining to real estate but it's the AR blogs that are so darn interesting...
And that's where the subject of this blog comes in... when you read a blog do you wonder why some get featured and others don't?  Well I can tell you that I don't know that answer either but I have a couple of criteria for when I hit the SUGGEST button:

Insurance, insurance, insurance! - 04/02/11 09:08 PM
Insurance, insurance, insurance!
Insurance drives me nuts!  Car insurance, homeowners insurance, landlord insurance, E&O insurance, boat insurance, health insurance…it just keeps going

Since insurance is an elective (almost) item, do you ever check for better rates when it comes time to renew?  Or do you just renew cause it’s the easier thing to do….and you have other things on your plate that’s seems to be more important?

Since my E&O insurance was up for renewal April 1 (No fooling), I decided once again to check for better rates….hate to complete the 4 pages of information but then it does … (15 comments)
