century 21 sundance: Rare Birds Return To Put Breaks On Beach Driving In Daytona Again! - 07/22/08 11:18 AM
A year ago, August of 2007 I told you about how these 3 rare birds had captured the hearts of people around Daytona Beach and managed to block off the beach to cars in my post: Rare Birds Put The Breaks On Beach Driving In Daytona That post remained on the first page of Florida Information, Volusia County Information and Daytona Beach, FL Information until just recently. You all loved it that much! Just recently Mom and Dad returned to Daytona Beach, they must love our hospitality! My hairdresser spotted them in the exact same spot they were at last

century 21 sundance: Please Extend A Warm Welcome - 11/30/07 03:32 PM
To my fellow CENTURY 21 Sundance Associate ~ Joseph Endara! Joe has been with CENTURY 21 Sundance for about 3 years now and I've been working with him in the same office for a year and a half. He's super easy going to work with and usually I don't even know he is here when he is on floor. Joe's been listening to Midori and I talk about the Rain now for quite some time. In fact we've been trying to talk him into joining AR but no luck. Until... Joe attended the Internet Marketing training class Midori held back on November 16. I sent

This years parade will be honoring the Ford Model T owned by John White. Mr. White brought this same car to the very first show 50 years ago and will be bringing it back this year! The Gaslight Parade begins at 7:00PM and leaves from the Casements (former home of John Rockefeller) on Granada Blvd. travels east to A1A then heads south on A1A to Harvard Drive where it then turns right onto Riverside Drive to head back north to the Casements for the Block Party. century 21 sundance: The Classics Are Back In Town! - 11/21/07 10:45 AM
Yesterday I told you about our Annual Turkey Run, it is actually our 34th Annual Turkey Run. This event is so popular that people come in from around the world to see the cars that come to Daytona Beach during Thanksgiving Weekend. If you don't want to go to the speedway to view the cars there are other places to go. I go to the Bellair Shopping Plaza for a couple reasons. My main reason? It's closer to home. Reason 2? It's a smaller type venue (even though it is not an organized event). Reason 3? The cars are are all

century 21 sundance: The Annual Daytona Turkey Run Is Almost Here! - 11/20/07 09:30 AM
I know what your thinking if your not familiar with this event and no we don't race turkeys on the beach or anything even close to that.. However it would be quite a sight to see, wouldn't it? The Annual Daytona Turkey Run is like Biketoberfest but for the Classic Car Enthusiasts! Oh yes, and I am in absolute heaven! The actual Turkey Run is held at the infield of the Daytona Beach International Speedway. Folks bring their classics from all over the country to Show off Buy Sell or Trade The only rule is the car can be no newer

century 21 sundance: Another Of Florida's Endangered Species - 11/11/07 11:41 AM
Since working at the Pelican Bay office I've spotted a lot of different birds on the way to work and at the office. On about 3 rare occasions, about this time last year, I spotted a tall strange looking bird with white feathers, but was unable to pull over anywhere to take photos or ID it. The last day of Biketoberfest I came down with a horrible cold that really put me out of commission for at least a week. I was going to the office just to make sure our News Journal ads were sent out, then going home and back to

century 21 sundance: Have You Thanked A Vet Volusia County? - 11/09/07 09:06 AM
Sunday, November 11th is Veterans Day, a day we as a Nation have set aside to honor our Vets. A day set aside to thank our vets for their service to our country. November 11th was picked for this special day because it is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War 1. (Signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of 1918). Our vets have and are sacrificing so much for us. They have sacrificed life and limb. They've sacrificed time with their families, their baby's first steps, first words, graduation, holidays with their families. They

century 21 sundance: Don't Let Them Get To You - 11/03/07 12:53 PM
In September of this year a couple I used to work with at our Century 21 Sundance Beachside office lost their son-in-law in the Iraqi war. They had just given up their quite successful Real Estate careers here in FL and moved to GA to be with their daughter and granddaughter while their son-in-law served his third tour of duty in Iraq at the beginning of this year. I remember how proud they were to call this young man son-in-law. I know how much their daughter loved her husband and how much his little girl loved her daddy. When all of us at Century 21 Sundance learned

She is a daughter, a wife, a mother, a blogger, a trainer, a manager, a cheerleader and best of all a great friend! I don't know how she does it all. She wears me out just watching her. Come with me on quick journey through my last 3 yrs with Midori Miller... She sold herself to Century 21 Sundance as the Company Trainer one summer. I remember the day well. I was working at the Ormond Office, (I think I was training

century 21 sundance: I Don't Like Spiders And Snakes... - 09/14/07 11:28 AM
Well... I just don't like spiders, snakes aren't all that bad... Only 6 out of our 44 Florida snakes are venomous! These snakes are the eastern coral, the southern copperhead, the cottonmouth, and 3 species of rattlesnake; eastern diamondback, timber and the dusky pygmy rattler. If you see one of these mentioned, no not approach them, back away slowly. If you find them in a home or building call your local animal control and have the experts come and remove them. (In my 4.5 yrs in FL I've never seen any rattle snakes, however that doesn't mean they aren't right next

century 21 sundance: Florida Has HOW MANY Different License Plates? - 08/23/07 11:38 AM
Florida has 4 separate categories for license plates when you go to their Speciality Plates web page. The catagories and total plates are: ENVIRONMENTAL ~ 18 MISCELLANEOUS ~ 40 PROFESSIONAL SPORTS ~ 9 UNIVERSITIES ~ 36 Including our standard Florida State license plate seen above this brings us to a grand total of 104 license plates for the state! That's a lot of different plates! Specialty plates vary in price depending on which plate you choose. Some have a $15.00 yearly fee while others can go as high as a $25.00 yearly fee. This is on top of your "once a year" vehicle registration fee. The

century 21 sundance: Century 21 House Of Realty Goes Above And Beyond... - 08/22/07 12:10 PM
To help someone all alone in a strange town and a strange situation. I wrote about this orginally in my post Working Across The Miles To Help One In Need. Our (Century 21 Sundance) customer Miss E. was traveling alone from Missouri to Florida to move into her newly purchased home and along the way she was involved in a single car roll-over accident in which her car caught on fire. A good Samaritan saw the accident and cut her out of her seat belt, pulled her from her wreck and called 911. Miss E's cell phone was burned along with her

century 21 sundance: Lunchtime At The Canals Of Pelican Bay - 08/16/07 04:58 PM
This is an AMERICAN ANHINGA OR SNAKE-BIRD. She has been living (or lived) in a tree by my Century 21 Sundance office for at least the last year, hunting for her daily meals in the pond/canal. She is different from any other water foul I've ever witnessed swim before. You see, she swims with just her neck and head above the water, (thus the name "Snake-bird") or if she is hunting fish she will be completely immersed as she stalks her prey, hiding amongst the pond muck before striking.

century 21 sundance: Rare Birds Put The Breaks On Beach Driving In Daytona - 08/15/07 10:41 AM
A big tourist draw for Daytona Beach is the fact that people can drive their cars on the beach, just park right where they want to & hang out for the day. You don't have to fight for parking in a parking lot then lug your cooler, blankets, chairs and surfboards or other toys from the parking lot to the beach, it's all right there for you. Recently, some rare visitors decided to visit Daytona Beach. Then they had their baby here and put a small damper on the beach driving for about a quarter mile of the beach. They are

century 21 sundance: Working Across The Miles To Help One In Need - 08/07/07 01:52 PM
I received a call today from a Century 21 office in Illinois, the name of the brokerage is Century 21 House Of Realty, the caller, Denise. Denise asked me to bear with her and her strange tale, but she had a call from a lady in a near by hospital and was trying to assist her in her quest. Apparently this lady was a customer of a Century 21 office here in Florida, more to the point near Port Orange, FL and her agents name was "John D.". This lady was really desperate to get a hold of "John D." Denise had done some searching

century 21 sundance: Mickey Jones Bikes And Blues Committee For St. Jude Writes The Offical Check! - 06/10/07 08:11 AM
Did you think we were on vacation from our St. Jude Fund Raising? Nope! We've already begun meetings for next years events! We need more sponsors and more ideas. We won't get that by taking time off. We did run into a snag with one vendor and had to wait to get our money back from the vendor before signing the official check to St. Jude. This is why it has taken so long for me to bring the official total to you. Before I tell you just how much the check was that we sent in to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital from

century 21 sundance: Egyptian Geese In Daytona Beach? - 06/09/07 08:36 AM
I went out to feed the Pelican Bay critters when I arrived at work on Wednesday and was greeted by an old friend, the Great Blue Heron. She looked a bit frazzled and hungry. She nailed two fish rather quickly, but my camera was in the office. I looked across the water and saw two ducks swimming my way, at first I thought they were young Muscovy's, but as they got closer I realized they were too pretty. They came right out of the water, walked around me, then stood behind me looking up towards

century 21 sundance: Mary Keller Seabird Rehabilitation Sanctuary In Ponce Inlet - 05/17/07 07:36 PM
My day was a bit different today, it started out the same as usual though. I got to the office and went out back to feed my "canal critters", as I walked back to the office I almost stepped on something green on the sidewalk. As I looked closer it was a tiny bird. I went to see if it was alive and it scooted towards the bushes but did not try to fly away. I bent down and was able to pick it up. It attempted to fly away, but couldn't go far and I picked it up again, this time

century 21 sundance: Smoke From Distant Fires - 05/09/07 02:25 PM
If you read my post Smoke From A Not So Distant Fire post this week you know all about our (Volusia and Flagler Counties) now named "Airport Fire". I updated that post last night with the following: OUR AIRPORT ROAD FIRE IS ONLY SMOKING AS OF TODAY 5/8 DESPITE OUR HIGH WINDS. FIREFIGHTERS SET 300 SURROUNDING ACRES ON A CONTROLED BURN (DARING MOVE CONSIDERING THE WINDS) AND HAVE SOMEHOW MANAGED TO CONTAIN IT. THE FIRE IS NOT OFFICIALLY OUT AND CAN SPARK UP AGAIN BUT OFFICIALS ARE OPTIMISTIC. AS OF SATURDAY THE FIRE CONSUMED 6,500 ACRES PLUS THE EXTRA 300 ACRES THE FIRE
