blogging: Was This My Idea First? - 03/25/08 10:09 AM
On January 14, 2007, I wrote this post that had a picture of me with my laptop at Peet's Coffee in San Ramon, California.
On the back of my computer, I had created this very visible branding image to draw attention to the fact that I am a real estate agent, I'm blogging and I want input from the general public.
I think the back of a laptop is some of the most underutilized branding space available. If you're like me, you're always out and about with that "billboard" up.
Is it working for you?
I had the idea that it would be … (0 comments)

blogging: Copywriters Perform Magic for Real Estate Agents - 11/14/07 08:14 PM
With the increasing demands on my time, I am finding it more and more difficult to post to the five blogs I maintain, leave comments on your blogs, and create additional needed content for our sites - and all of the Internet marketing and PR stuff. Whew! That sentence wears me out!
Ever since I ran into Joseph Natividad, I've been on the lookout for how to use other writers to support our effort. I'm writing over at AgentGenius, though I'm no genius. I'm not looking to go that route of having a team of contributors.
Last summer, I ran into Carol … (1 comments)

blogging: 2007 - Day 1 - 01/01/07 07:33 PM
Over at The Harper Team Blog, I've started the year off with - Rants, Raves & Faves
I'm in the process of transitioning my major blogging efforts to support that site.
Included in that post are some of my favorite sources for royalty-free images and I've used one to start promoting the blog classes that Pat Kintano and I are going to teach in the Bay Area.

blogging: Top 10 for New Bloggers - 12/20/06 12:06 PM
I received a comment on my Do You Rate post from Loreena Yeo, a self-confessed new blogger. Loreena got me to thinking and I thought I would take a moment to offer a couple of recommendations.
Take it Slow – Like everything connected to the Internet – the connectivity can quickly lead to feeling overwhelmed. So, take it slow – focus on one or two things until you are comfortable with them and then move on. Give yourself at least six months to develop your voice, style and expertise.

blogging: Active Rain or Deluge?? - 12/02/06 10:16 AM
How is your email inbox these days since you started blogging? Is it filling up more quickly? The better question might be – is it ever empty. Since I began blogging on Active Rain (only a few weeks ago), I have seen a substantial increase in traffic through my inbox. Of course, one of the main reasons I am blogging for our team is to help build relationships with others in the real estate community. We are hoping that we can eventually do some business with many of you. If this is one of your desires also, drop me a note. … (6 comments)

blogging: Use MAPS to Enhance Your Site - 11/19/06 06:44 AM
I'm in the process of adding some maps to our site. The one to the right is free from Google. You can get it here. Enter the information for your business - I'm using my favorite coffee shop address in San Ramon, CA as it is in the center of my farm instead of the Keller Williams Danville Market Center which we work out of.
You can type a business name, business type or address into the search function box.
If you're an agent that likes to build a separate site for specific listings, consider adding one of these maps so visitors can … (6 comments)
