EARTHQUAKE HITS LANCASTER, PA - 12/27/08 09:34 AM
At 12:04 this morning we were rudely awakened by a thunderous boom followed by what sounded like a pretty large echo. It was loud enough to rouse the dead. I know, because not only do I sleep like the dead but I just started coming down with a cold... I never get sick!!! So I took a shot of Nyquil before bed...so I was really out!
They say it was 3.3 on the Richter scale and was just north of a town named Mountville. Another news report put it just south of Manheim. We live in Mount Joy... as it appears … (4 comments)

Everyone loves A Charlie Brown Christmas. It was written and first aired on Dec. 9th 1965. What some folks don't know is that it almost never aired. According to wikipedia, the broadcasting company, CBS didn't like the story itself, and the use of jazz music didn't thrill them either. Then they balked at Linus reciting the scriptures of the Gospel of Luke 2:8-14. They wrongly thought that no sponsor would stand for it and it would lose money. I'm BOYCOTTING AMAZON.COM- Selling pornography openly. - 12/17/08 11:30 AM
This totally amazed me. While shopping for a DVD on Amazon.com, I discovered that among the 1st page of my searchable items, 3 pornographic movies were on the list. Before I could hit the back button or look away my eyes were looking at pornographic material. Now 3 years ago, I might have been OK with this... but not anymore, I'm a much different person now. Knowing that any child can get a little peak at something like this, much less with a paypal account or a parent sanctioned credit card ORDER one! I'm sure there are many ways a kid … (0 comments)

This just came across my desk this morning from a client... the cards would be nice... but I think God would love to show us a miracle and give Hannah and her family the gift of life this Christmas.

Louis Jones of Kiplinger.com just posted a most interesting article. And since I'm a born and raised Lancastrian, I just had to boast about it. I don't particularly care for boasting, but as my late father liked to say, "It ain't braggin if you can back it up!" Of course, he didn't boast about himself much either.

My one thought today upon my father's passing was how the spoken word is so very powerful. It can tear down or build up, it has an ability to last a lifetime.
It was important to Dad and he was quite a wordsmith. My favorite memory is one of my first little league baseball games. I was 7 years old and playing in a division of 7-10 year olds.
