In the Aftermath of Horrifying Events- Part 1 - 07/28/12 09:46 AM
At the turn of the Twentieth Century, one of America's leading newspapers addressed the following question to many notable people of that time: "What in your opinion is the chief danger, social or political, that confronts the coming century?”  General William Booth, founder of Salvation Army, was one invited to reply to this question; he sent this reply:
“The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, heaven without hell.”
It would appear as if he saw the headlines of today's world. … (9 comments)

In Answer to CNN's question- "Where was God in Aurora?" - 07/25/12 07:59 AM
This will be a quick answer and I don't intend to be glib. God was simply not invited. In 1947 the Supreme Court reversed course of the previous 150 years of rulings and ruled basically that church and state should be separate. It's not in our constitution but when they married the 14th amendment with the 1st amendment, which by the way was 1st for a good reason, we got a reverse course of action that opened the door to many more rulings that just left God out of public life. We are  were, a country set up on Biblical ideals.

Food for Thought - The Brain - 07/21/12 07:55 AM
"The brain is THE most amazing organ in our bodies. It works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, controlling every movement, every action, every waking moment and every sleeping moment in our bodies from the very second we are born until the very minute we fall in love." - Unknown … (9 comments)

How Cliche - 07/20/12 10:30 AM
BANNED IN BOSTON!
No Chicken Soup For YOU!- Soup Nazi.
This must be the kiss of death for Chick-Fil-A. I can't imagine how they will carry on without a restaurant in all of Boston. I will always support Chick-Fil-A because they have delicious chicken and it's much better tasting than McDonalds or Burger King or the others. I could care less what a politician says about them. They are family oriented and I will never see the evil in that. Please have a lunch at Chick-Fil-A soon and thank them for standing up for families everywhere.
So here's more cliches that … (9 comments)

...And to the Republic for which it stands... - 07/17/12 07:27 AM
Remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag when you were in school? Then you are old. My children barely remember it from grade school. I think it's been wiped out in many public schools. I remember it being one of the first things we had to memorize in the 1st grade. I can't remember the last time I heard one of our country's leaders calling us a republic can you?
The reason being that sometime in the last 100 years of our history, we've erased that republic and replaced it with a democracy. We now, almost to everyone … (14 comments)

Be Careful Who You Put On A Pedestal - 07/12/12 08:32 AM
We tend to elevate other people in our hearts and minds. It's human nature.  I loved Vince Lombardi as a kid, I loved Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Roberto Clemente, John Havelichek, Bill Russell, Bill Mazeroski, Willie Stargell, Paul Newman and Clint Eastwood. I guess you could say I put them on pedestals. They could do no wrong in my eyes. Of these men, Vince and Roberto have been immortalized since their deaths. I even got to meet Roberto one late night in Philadelphia after a Phillies game, and just a month or two from his 3,000 hit and final at bat. … (10 comments)

Out of the mouths of babes... - 07/09/12 05:22 AM
We just heard something from one of our spiritual children via a Facebook post. It is good to see some are blossoming under the Son while off at college. The following was posted on her Facebook page... written by her. Enjoy.

Dear Daughter/(Son), Bride of my Son,How easily you forget my deep, passionate, unfailing love for you. Did I not send my dearly beloved, only Son to die so that we might share an eternity of enjoying and reveling in each others’ company? If you would only disregard … (5 comments)
