san diego real estate: FHA buyers in San Diego and Riverside Counties - 03/29/10 08:57 PM
FHA buyers in San Diego and Riverside Counties As an Realtor that specializes in working with buyers in San Diego and Southwest Riverside County, I work with many buyers that are approved for VA or FHA financing. I have heard other real estate professionals state "I can't get my offers accepted because listing agents will not even look at an FHA buyer" or "VA offers will never get accepted because sellers believe it is a weak offer." I have written a lot of offers and found that FHA and VA offer DO get accepted. Of course most of these FHA and (1 comments)
san diego real estate: Hiking in Escondido - 07/06/09 06:37 PM
During the holiday weekend, in between writing offers and showing property, we took a little time to go on a short hike in Escondido at Daley Ranch. Although there are over 20 miles of multi-purpose trails, we hiked only about 5.5 miles on a very easy trail. For more information on Daley Ranch, the trails and the history, visit the City of Escondido website.
Every year, Americans buy more than 100 million cell phones, yet fewer than 20% of old cell phones are recycled. Discarded phones represent about 65,000 tons of electronic garbage every year. Instead of leaving your old cell phone in your junk drawer or putting it in trash, which will cause it to end up in the landfill, PLEASE donate your old/used cell phones to the San Marcos Historical Society. The San Marcos Historical Society will make sure that the old cells phones are recycled properly while at the same time raising a few dollars to help sustain the operation of (2 comments)
Now is your chance to see what the Kiwanis Club of San Marcos is all about. Our club is very active in the community, which includes a very special literacy program with the elementary schools. Our club is also active in the Relay for Life, Rady Children's Hospital in addition to working with most of the youth groups in the community. This special One-Day event will include participation from local youth groups; the Boys and Girls Club and a local Brownie troop. Our meetings are held on the first, second and fourth Friday of each month at 7:15 am. For those that cannot attend morning (1 comments)
san diego real estate: The Stimulus Plan and the First Time Home Buyer - 02/26/09 12:55 PM
The new housing stimulus plan approved last week has some nice additions to it over and above the one offered by Congress last year. The biggest difference is that the tax credit is no longer required to be repaid which is a huge improvement over last years bill (which was basically a 0% interest 15 year loan). Yes, the $8,000 comes as a "no strings attached" gift from Uncle Sam. The maximum tax credit amount has increased to the lesser of $8,000 or 10% of the purchase price. This bill is only good for 2009, so make sure your escrow closes (1 comments)
What is wrong in this picture? What action would you recommend, if any, to correct the problem? Home inspectors are required to be extremely observant. Not only do they have to view the roof and ceilings, they have to view the floors and any possible visible defects. Even when there are floor coverings, there may be signs of a "cover up". Drawing over 2000 bikers from around the southwest, this is the premier cycling event in North San Diego County. To register, go on line to the Tour de Poway website or arrive by 6am the day of the event and register on site. This is a wonderful event and the weather should be cooler by the weekend so come out and ride or simply cheer on the riders and sign up for the barbecue lunch after the ride. There are 5 courses to choose from, starting with an 18 mile tour for the recreational cyclist to (6 comments)
Don't miss a wonderful chance to enjoy nine evenings of dining at North San Diego County's premier dining destination. September 20th thru 28th. Prices range from $10 to $30 per person and include up to three choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Only Nine Tasty Nights I have eaten at many of these restaurants and never been disappointed in the quality of the food or service. If you get stuck at a favorite eatery every time you stop at Old California Restaurant Row, this (5 comments)

san diego real estate: an evening in San Marcos - 08/30/08 07:55 PM
While relaxing after a long day showing property, I was sitting out on our deck in San Marcos and noticed the sky take on a wonderful color. After all the rush and stress of the day this really helped me STOP and enjoy. We are very lucky to be able to live where we live. The weather, if you can call it that, is generally wonderful. I know that some prefer the change of the seasons but since I am a native Californian, I have not had the pleasure. I can ski in the morning and still get in an afternoon (0 comments)
