During the holiday weekend, in between writing offers and showing property, we took a little time to go on a short hike in Escondido at Daley Ranch.  Although there are over 20 miles of multi-purpose trails, we hiked only about 5.5 miles on a very easy trail.   For more information on Daley Ranch, the trails and the history, visit the City of Escondido website.

The new housing stimulus plan approved last week has some nice additions to it over and above the one offered by Congress last year.
 The biggest difference is that the tax credit is no longer required to be repaid which is a huge improvement over last years bill (which was basically a 0% interest 15 year loan).  Yes, the $8,000 comes as a "no strings attached" gift from Uncle Sam.  The maximum tax credit amount has increased to the lesser of $8,000 or 10% of the purchase price.  This bill is only good for 2009, so make sure your escrow closes … (1 comments)

Home inspectors are required to be extremely observant.  Not only do they have to view the roof and ceilings, they have to view the floors and any possible visible defects. Even when there are floor coverings, there may be signs of a "cover up".

While relaxing after a long day showing property, I was sitting out on our deck in San Marcos and noticed the sky take on a wonderful color.  After all the rush and stress of the day this really helped me STOP and enjoy.
We are very lucky to be able to live where we live.  The weather, if you can call it that, is generally wonderful.  I know that some prefer the change of the seasons but since I am a native Californian, I have not had the pleasure.  I can ski in the morning and still get in an afternoon … (0 comments)
