My first Mothers Day Those of you that know me, know that I don't have children of my own. There is one person in my life that is like a daughter to me, but better. But this story isn't about her. Happy Mother's Day! To all of my friends who are Mothers, I hope you have a wonderful day today. For those of you who have lost your Mothers, I know how you feel. Today was the first Mother's Day without Maude. Instead of being able to think about Maude, we spent the day trying to prepare to move Joe, Maude's husband, into assisted living tomorrow.
Maude was Jim, my husband's, mother. She passed away last summer at age 96. Joe will be 97 next month. We were able to put flowers on her grave for Easter. But we didn't get to spend time "with her".
