One of our favorite places to visit is the local library. From storytime to internet access to family activities...there is never a shortage of entertainment! Elk River is blessed with a very nice library - recently built and qualifying for "green" awards.Hats off to the ladies that run the library! They make the library a knowledgable and fun place to be.Currently the library is looking for support. It only happens every ten years! And, this IS the year. It makes me think about how much harder the process could be...Just think, Mary and Joseph had to travel to their "Hometown" to be counted in their census. If it hadn't been for the government Jesus would never have been born in a manger! Anyways, if you haven't gotten your request in the mail I'm sure that it's on it's way. They are looking for the basics. Who and how many are living in your house. These statistics often do more than just help with government jurisdiction, but aide in (2 comments)
Why I love my GPS... - 03/15/10 11:54 PM
I've written another post in regards to my GPS, but I just can't resist... I was out photographing properties for the bank on Friday and I had the most entertaining and peculiar drive around ever! I needed to get the pictures in a fast hurry so I didn't take time to look up the maps to the properties before leaving the house only to remember why I check and double check where I'm going even with my GPS. I had four properties to drive past and my GPS was sincerely confused finding two of them. The first property my GPS took (9 comments)
Decorate with Daffodils!!! - 03/15/10 11:19 PM
In Minnesota you know that it's often cloudy and whimpery this time of year. The rains come and go as do clouds because the earth is warming up and the plantlife needs the water to green up! In the meantime we suffer with the pain of darkness for a little while longer and the warm moves in and the chill moves out. We just finished up a two-week stretch of dark dark days... (even had a little lightening and thunder in the mix of clouds). If you are trying to sell your home it can make keeping it bright and cheery (9 comments)
Happy St. Paddy's Day! - 03/15/10 10:56 PM
Just passing on a wonderful wish that you might have a great St Patrick's Day!!!!Go green and be green!May life be wonderful to you this week. What a beautiful week for a holiday! To celebrate a man that fought slavery and that brought deliverance to a people. I realized this year how little I know about the little green men, but he is worth a holiday. And, he's worth so much more than than a drink fest!

Tick Tock Goes the Clock! - 03/10/10 09:51 PM
Seems like time is marching! And here is my warning... This weekend (the 14th of March) it is time.Time for all of us to turn the dreaded clocks. That's right folks. This is the weekend that we truly know it's spring. We know because the sun will now get up before we do and we will lose an hour of precious sleep. In the fall it isn't so bad because we get to sleep a little longer in the morning that it hits, but not in the spring. So, let's put a little spring in our step and move those clocks forward this (5 comments)

Elk River Business Almanac... - 03/02/10 10:19 AM
This weekend the Elk River Business Almanac went out with the local paper. It's a great resource to get to know different businesses in town and what they are up to. I'm writing this post to "toot my own horn" because this particular installment makes me feel a little special!
Anyways, you'll find Coldwell Banker Vision and "me" on page 5. In addition to my photo being in the insert.... I am highlighted on the front cover!!!! Yep, it was an unexpected highlight to have them use my photographs on the cover. This is Active Rain blogging at it's best. (8 comments)
Energy Expo in Elk River a Success! - 03/02/10 10:04 AM
Last Saturday Elk River hosted it's 4th annual Energy Expo. I have to say that I was a little surprised at the attendance that they had - and in a good way! I think that energy efficient and energy conscious is a good thing for us to be. The ECFE had a great area open for kids to enjoy. My little ones got to make "recycled binoculars" from toilet paper rolls and "recycled crayon" pictures and use playdo. They had so much fun at the different areas of play. They REALLY wanted to go play with the big kids that were making (2 comments)
Just a few of my favorite spring things... - 03/02/10 09:39 AM
The weather is changing. The best part about Minnesota is that if you stick around long enough you will find a season that you absolutely love! Me? There is really one season that I'm not fond of. Though I can even find good things about the season of bitter cold and snow! Here's my list of favorites for the coming season: 10. There is something about watching the drip drip of water droplets dripping from the roofs! The absence of rain but ever flowing rivlets of water flowing everywhere. It just means that spring has sprung! 9. That beautiful sunshine that (7 comments)
