Mmmm. Breakfast of champions... - 06/30/12 10:21 AM
Living quite like I imagine the pioneers would we spend hours out in our gardens every day. Watering, weeding, watching, enjoying as our plants grow from seedlings to full grown participating members of our family. When a storm takes one out... I feel sad. When an animal steals one... I feel defeated. When the bugs overtake them... I feel frustrated. One of the best parts of having our living, growing 'plantation' is that we get to enjoy the treats it gives. Everyday there is something new. In the spring it's strawberries, in the summer it's raspberries and in the fall it's … (7 comments)

What's growing in your garden? - 06/29/12 11:54 AM
Apparently radishes grow really well in our yard.Who knew? I've never tried growing radishes before, but read this spring that they are very healthy for you. So... into the ground they go. We have lots of veggies growing, but this was this mornings treat. Love going to the garden finding somethingyummy to eat! And, there is just a good feeling about seeing the seeds you planted grow. In the next day or two these little babies will be ready to pluck... ... and when they do I will turn around and plant another batch!
I'd love to see... what's growing in your … (10 comments)

Sitting in the sunshine... - 06/23/12 11:16 PM
I just finished this awesome real estate course that gave great detail to marketing to your SOI (sphere of influence). The recommendation is to go for the soft sale and targeting those that care about you and your business through non-business events.Does this justify the sunburn I'm hosting from the park yesterday? My shoulders will be telling a warm story for a few days yet, but we had a nice time swimming with a friend, past client and avid supporter of my business.
The only business we talked about? The need for me to answer a text or two.  In the … (7 comments)

It's a frog attack! - 06/20/12 09:43 PM
Ha. Did that catch your attention? Have you ever seen such a little thing? We found these teeny tiny froggies over a week ago and I couldn't resist. After all... they were small. There is nothing to holding amphibians that are so little, right? Mom didn't think so. She claims we have to be cut from 'different cloth' because she wouldn't touch a slimy thing like that. Got me to thinking... How does one grow up among boys and men on a farm and not learn to like such things. Personally, I've done everything in my power to encourage it. I … (7 comments)

Old Red... - 06/16/12 11:56 AM
There's this old red barn hanging out in the woods. It barely has a roof and the door is really non-existent. So why keep a barn such as this? What's it's purpose?Really... does it have one? I would love a barn such as this.It has so very many ways to bless...It could be a hideout. It could be a planting room.It could be a storage shed (a place outside of the worst elements)It could be a piece of the beautiful scenery. And it is full of true and full imagination. So is it worth keeping around? I think so. But, I know that … (9 comments)

Snug as a little green house? - 06/15/12 09:55 PM
Once upon a time a Realtor was showing her buyers some homes on the north end of town.. which town I cannot be sure... and she saw some very interesting things.Upon the first home they looked at they found secret passageways and dark tunnels that led to the back of hidden walk in closets. At the second house they found a rambler instead of the two story that it looked like from the outside. In fact the buyers and Realtor ventured through the strange layout with blocked off doors and ancient teeny people stairways to try and find the lost stairway … (4 comments)

Peanuts in Minnesota? - 06/15/12 07:51 AM
Every year we like to add a little something something to the garden that is new, different and maybe won't work. Over time we've added beets (which I can't seem to grow for the life of me), blueberries, grapes, strawberries, onions (both perennial and annual), corn, popcorn, collard greens, cucumbers, and much much more. Awhile back I was reading a book and they talked about growing peanuts. Yup, peanuts. I knew in my knower that it had to be tried sooooooooooooooo I pulled up the lovely Google search tool and typed in "Growing peanuts in Minnesota" and you know what I … (5 comments)

My Camera Died.... - 06/10/12 09:29 PM
I know that I only had a simple point and shoot camera, but really? I am NOT ready to replace my beloved Canon. My trusty tool is quite missing in my tool belt and I'm limping along until I figure out what to replace it with. As a Realtor I would replace it with the same simple awesomeness that I had. The photographer in me (amateur as it is) would love to upgrade and learn something new. So, as I lament over my non-working camera equipment I will be leaning heavily on my camera to do the work for me. Thank … (8 comments)

In the good ol' summertime! - 06/04/12 11:33 AM
There are four beautiful seasons in Minnesota. Four very different, but lovely, seasons. Currently we are trending from Spring to Summer and it's pretty obvious. Lawn furniture is out. Grills are in place. And the smells of summer are everywhere. If you have a patio, deck, or porch it's probably getting a good lot of use right now.For gardener's this season is a paradise. The ambiance of flowers, pots, trees and plants can add to the sweet feel of the season. For the non-gardener it might be about family, friends, and setting. However you enjoy the season now is a great … (7 comments)

Going West? - 06/02/12 09:43 PM
Something that has always fascinated me is the idea of settlers heading west in the wagon trains. With much information left to the imagination it would seem that the carts they carried were huge, but they weren't. Think of it this way.... How big a cart would you need to load everything (absolutely everything) that you own in effort to head west? My guess is that most of us would need a whole wagon train just for our current belongings. Buying a ticket to join the train heading west was one thing, but seeing what they were allowed to carry with … (3 comments)

Can't Quite Imagine... - 06/02/12 09:04 PM
I can't quite imagine what it would be like living under an airport. Noisy? Busy? Interesting? Better or worse than highway or railway noises? I just don't know. But, what I do know is that an airshow would certainly add to the drama of an airport's busy-ness.
There is an airport in Anoka that hosts an annual airshow every June. I've n

ever taken the time to attend though I have known about it for years. Just seemed right to visit with youngsters in tow and am I ever glad that we did.
We were greeted with some great looking … (0 comments)
