homeowner: Progressing RE Agents read Real Estate Magazines - 05/24/10 03:58 PM
Well, I am happy to say I have been able to keep one of my New Years resolutions...reading my real estate magazines! As a Realtor I get several magazines sent to me on a monthly basis. Often agents throw them away, toss them into a pile or don't read them. However, these real estate magazines are chock full of good ideas, technology, life experiences, agent input, etc. one cannot afford to read them. I have been able to further my knowledge, ideas, contacts & impress my clients with my cutting edge concepts. People are working hard to help us Realtors keep in

homeowner: STREET SMART AGENTS - 02/28/08 12:43 PM
STREET SMART AGENT It is sooooo important to have the right agent working for you. Why? Because in times like these when the real estate market gets tight, lawsuits soar and crazy things happen. An experienced agent will take the time to do their research and homework to ensure you are getting the best property and not just a transaction in their pocket. What type of research you ask? What should my concerns be? Well, if a property has been on the market a long time, several issues come into play. Some of the obvious...is it priced right? Do the sellers want or

homeowner: FHA helps with refinancing an ARM to a FIXED-RATE - 11/26/07 04:10 PM
I am always reading everything related to real estate I can get my hands on. I just came across a great ad that caught my attention that I would like to share with you. With all the foreclosures hitting the market, this one is a great find. Come to find out, a small number of our clients may qualify for a new program from the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) called FHA Secure. The program is designed to transition homeowners with an impending ARM reset refinance into a fixed-rate loan. Consumers need the following to qualify: an ARM that reset(s) between December

homeowner: GREAT NEIGHBORS OR GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD! - 09/11/07 04:17 PM
I have to say...I have the best neighbors in the whole wide world! This in turn makes it hard for any of us to ever want to move. Many of us have outgrown our house, but we end up staying because we know we have it good. Yes, we all help each other out and look over one another's home when someone goes out of town. However, we go above and beyond what most neighbors do for one another. My neighbors have stepped in to take or pick up my kiddo from school if I have an appointment or an immediate

homeowner: Can your clients afford their loan? - 08/10/07 12:25 PM
Many homeowners are facing a crisis because they cannot pay their mortgages. Yes, I know some of these homeowners didn't read the fine print, or ask the right questions when they acquired the loan. However, many homeowners were lured into loans with low rates that adjusted up. When the rates reset, monthly payments rise beyond what many homeowners could afford, and some borrowers are losing their homes to foreclosure. I can't help but feel it is also part of our responsibility as their Realtor to make ourselves aware of our client's situation and advise them on making the right decision. Often

homeowner: DO YOU FARM? - 08/06/07 05:15 PM
Homeowners don't realize how expensive it is to be a real estate agent. They think we make so much money, but little do they know an agent is held accountable for all of their marketing, MLS fees, advertising, E & O Insurance, signs, lockboxes, flyers, client gifts, gas, phone bills, internet expenses, and expense after expense. We also have to cover our own health insurance, dental insurance & most companies don't offer 401K incentive plans. So when you add it up and put it all together, an agent has to sell several homes just to cover the basics each year. A

homeowner: Honest & Dependable CONTRACTORS - BUILD Your Database - 07/17/07 09:36 AM
Upon first entering the real estate business I soon realized the importance of having a dependable database of contractors. Homeowners, friends and neighbors have all sorts of needs, so you want them to think of you as a trustworthy source of information. In addition, you want to be the first call they make when they have a contractor need. It is important real estate agents have contractors who are honest and dependable, because this is a reflection upon you and the people you know to make good things happen. Often a seller will need to have home repairs made or a

homeowner: Getting Homeowners to come to YOU! - 07/14/07 10:34 AM
This week I will be hosting my 3rd Neighborhood Watch Meeting. I find it is a great way for homeowners to get to know me and see my involvement in the community. In turn, I stay connected with homeowners and keep a pulse on the neighborhood. Upon taking on this task a few years back, homeowners started calling me when something went down in the neighborhood. This gave me great exposure, and soon I realized I was the one they would call when they had an issue. Because I care, I volunteered to be the Neighborhood Block Captain and have built
