Photography in the Rain: Shoshone Falls - 04/30/09 06:05 PM
A shot of the beautiful Shoshone Falls on the Snake River in Idaho. Mother Nature astounds me with the beauty she produces. I think it's very peaceful. I wish I were there now. Waterfalls have always fascinated me. Isn't it gorgeous? Heather Chavez - Second Self Virtual Assistance: When There Isn't Enough of You to Go Around! (15 comments)
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY: A Look Forward - 04/29/09 04:44 PM
BECAUSE I CAN NEVER ACTUALLY BE "WORDLESS": My son's Winnie-the-Pooh is just looking at what lies ahead. Pooh's been with us since my son was four years old. He goes just about everywhere we do. When my son lost his Boppy, Pooh is the one that took his place. If you tell him I shared this photo with you, I will deny it! NASCAR Nation: Talladega Wrecks 2009 - 04/27/09 09:39 AM
Wow! What a race! They don't call it the fastest track for nothing, right? My race really ended at Lap 7, when Matt Kenseth bumped Jeff Gordon (just a race bump, not a "wanna make you wreck" bump) and sent Jeff slamming into the wall for the first big wreck of the day. The wreck took out last week's winner, Mark Martin, for the rest of the race. Some of the others that got caught up in the wreck were Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and AJ Allmendinger, who all eventually made it back on to the track, albeit several laps down. (22 comments)
Help the Planet: See DisneyNature's "Earth" This Weekend - 04/25/09 01:41 AM
Disney had made an incredible pledge to all the people that purchase tickets and see their new movie, "DisneyNature's Earth", on its opening weekend. For every ticket sold, Disney will plant a tree. So, we have the potential of not only seeing a fantastic film about how the animals handle our amazing planet throughout the changing seasons every year, but we can actually help fight global warming through the planting of new trees. My son and I saw this fantastic film today. We watched polar bears fight to stay alive in the north pole, we saw some crazy dancing by (7 comments)
For Movie Lovers: Riverside International Film Festival - 04/25/09 01:06 AM

The 7th Annual Riverside International Film Festival has come to the Regal Cinemas 16 at the Riverside Plaza in Riverside, California. Although the festival began on April 17th, it's not to late to enjoy some fine films through the weekend. Just bring your ticket stub for (5 comments)
Very Sweet Berry Sweet - 04/21/09 12:00 AM
While Pinkberry is more of an LA deal, we in the Inland Empire have our Berry Sweet. It is a family-owned business that offers tart and tangy frozen yogurt with tons of toppings to choose from. You have your choice of a dozen different flavors on any given day and over 20 different toppings, which range from fresh fruit to mini peanut butter cups. Located in the University Village, just up the street from the University of California at Riverside, Berry Sweet is a self-serve frozen yogurt paradise. Since it just so happens to be conveniently located just up the street (12 comments)

NASCAR NATION: Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix - April 18, 2009 - 04/19/09 09:03 PM
Congratulations go out to pole sitter and winner: the little jockey, Mark Martin. He's one of the nicest and most humble men in all of NASCAR. He SO deserved it. He was definitely the dominating car at Saturday night's race. He was the winner at the first NASCAR race I ever attended. So, it was lovely to see him win and get his 400th Top 10 finish of his career. That being said, I have to tell you..that was the most painful experience watching a race that I have ever had the displeasure of watching. As you all know, I am (4 comments)
Easter Bunny Angel - 04/12/09 11:13 PM
I have now officially become one of THOSE people. You know THOSE people...they're the ones that dress their animals up in crazy outfits because they think their pet is the most adorable. Behold:
It's wrong, I know. But, I couldn't help myself. She had just been to the groomer's, too. So, she even smelled cute. Let me officially say, "I'm sorry, Angel. I'll try to control myself better next time." Heather Chavez - Second Self Virtual Assistance: When There Isn't Enough of You to Go Around! (42 comments)
Spring Fresh: Ain't No Mountain High Enough (Eventually)! - 04/10/09 12:54 AM
Usually, people use New Year's Day as inspiration to start anew. Since I was fighting off a cold so that I could get into surgery on January 7th, New Year's was NOT a day of renewal for me. Recouperating from surgery can take a while. In my case, the doctor gave me 12 weeks to make sure that everything healed up nicely before I could do anything more strenuous than folding laundry. Last week, those 12 weeks were up! My son and I finally got to do what I had been promising him to do since we moved into our house (32 comments)
A Little Inspiration for Your Friday - 04/09/09 11:42 PM
This is an amazing video that was passed on to me and now I am passing it on to you. Just a little inspiration for a Friday morning. Turn your computer speakers on and watch the video until the very end. It is so worth it! This is one amazingly talented artist. If you're not in awe with what transpires here, you don't have a soul! Enjoy. Heather Chavez - Second Self Virtual Assistance: When There Isn't Enough of You to Go Around!
Spring is blooming in Southern California. These are the local flowers blossoming right now in our neighborhood. My son took the photos and I think he did a great job. He's becoming quite the photographer! Heather Chavez - Second Self Virtual Assistance: When There Isn't Enough of You to Go Around! (30 comments)
NASCAR NATION: Sprint Cup's Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway Wrap-Up - 04/05/09 10:50 PM
HE DID IT! HE DID IT! HE DID IT! OK, sorry about that. I've been waiting 47 races to be able to say that. So, I got a little excited. My man, Jeff Gordon, won this week's Sprint Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway. On his 17th attempt at a win at this track, he finally got to add a check to the win column. Now there is only one NASCAR track he has not won at in his career. But, at the rate he's going, I'm sure he'll be able to conquer that as well. I have to admit, (5 comments)
You Are Never REALLY Your Own Boss - 04/04/09 11:50 PM
Many people are under the misnomer that being self-employed means You are your own boss. While you are the boss of how many hours you put in a day, that is where it usually ends. You are never REALLY your own boss. There is always someone to answer to. Instead of having the one boss that orders you around in a traditional office, the self-employed tend to have several bosses (only we call them "clients") that tell us what to do, when to do it and how it needs to be done so that they are happy. That means exponentially more (26 comments)
The Problems Some People Have - 04/03/09 08:18 AM
A German woman divorced her husband because he "cleaned too much" and she had enough of it! I know alot of women who would LOVE to have this problem. (I do! I do!) My husband tends to leave a trail of clothing when he gets home. You can actually follow the trail of clothes to see where he has been in the house at any given time after he gets home from work. Although, when he decided that a wall was too dirty that it needed to be knocked down and rebuilt, I have to agree with the German wife. This (13 comments)
Are You a Man or a Mouse? - 04/03/09 07:57 AM
When I was pregnant, my husband and I rented one side of a duplex owned by my husband's Uncle Fred. Living out in an undeveloped area of Lake Elsinore, CA meant that the days were quiet, but the nights were full of life. One evening, when I was about six months pregnant, Uncle Fred came over to visit. It wasn't a very far way to travel, since he and his wife lived in the other half of the duplex. Suddenly, a small, scurrying movement caught the corner of my husband's eye. Both Uncle Fred and I, of course, turned and gasped. (12 comments)
