Holy cow! What a way to race to the finish, folks! When Kid Rock is the grand marshal and gives the ("Gentlemen, start...your...engines" cue at the beginning of the race, you know it's gotta be good! After running away with the lead for most of the 200 laps, Jimmie Johnson appeared to have the checkered flag all but in his little hands when, at one lap to go, he ran out of fuel. Wow! What a race! They don't call it the fastest track for nothing, right? My race really ended at Lap 7, when Matt Kenseth bumped Jeff Gordon (just a race bump, not a "wanna make you wreck" bump) and sent Jeff slamming into the wall for the first big wreck of the day. The wreck took out last week's winner, Mark Martin, for the rest of the race. Some of the others that got caught up in the wreck were Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and AJ Allmendinger, who all eventually made it back on to the track, albeit several laps down. … (22 comments)

HE DID IT! HE DID IT! HE DID IT! OK, sorry about that. I've been waiting 47 races to be able to say that. So, I got a little excited. My man, Jeff Gordon, won this week's Sprint Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway. On his 17th attempt at a win at this track, he finally got to add a check to the win column. Again, always a bridesmaid and never a bride. My man, Jeff Gordon, just couldn't quite make it to victory circle this week. But, I'm confident that, with the year he's having so far, I will be posting a "Way To Go #24" soon. I can't wait!
