Preparing Homes for Winter! - 10/30/08 10:38 AM

It's that time of year (well, not yet in Colorado, we are having some sort of heat wave), we should be preparing for the cold weather around the corner. When I used to work for John Laing Homes, we used to send out these checklists to buyers and homeowners to help them prepare their house each season. These are some of the items that we practice in our home but the list can go on and on...
1. Furnace Maintenance: Make sure you are changing your furnace filer once every 3 months, it's general upkeep but if you live in … (3 comments)

Homeowner Halloween Safety - 10/29/08 10:35 AM

All the ghosts and goblins will be coming out in a couple days so I wanted to offer some safety tips for all my fellow parents and homeowners. Some of these tips may actually help with the showings of some homes.
Safety Tips (I learned of some of these on http://www.sosnet.com/Safety/halloween.tip.html ) I've selected my favorite and added a couple of my own from years past!
1. Clear any clutter from your walkway. We know how sue-happy this country has become, nothing like being taken to court over a rake on the sidewalk. Hoses, decorations and other items may cause a … (5 comments)

Increasing your Luck & Productivity, a Little Feng Shui at a Time! - 10/28/08 12:41 PM
When I started in the business world I often noticed that there were 2 types of offices:
1. Messy Ones
2. Mine
I'm what you would call a "pefectionist"! I have to have things tidy and neat and in their place. If I see a speck of dust on my work area, I have a Swiffer Duster within arms reach...ask my coworkers, they would agree. I figure, there has to be some way that this is beneficial to me, otherwise, some may call me insane.
So one slow day at work (you know we all have them from time to time), … (2 comments)

Erie Events October 25th-26th - 10/27/08 09:03 PM

What an amazing weekend it was. The weather is beautiful, if I remember correctly, we had snow about this time last year. I'm hoping the sun stays out for trick-or-treating on Friday.
Saturday was the 26th Annual Eerie Erie hosted by the Optimist Club. This was a huge event! Over 600 participants joined in the fun. Many of the runners were even from out of town, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that people from outside Colorado knew of this great event in our great town!
There was also the Trunk or Treat event at the Erie Community Center … (0 comments)

Voting in Colorado! - 10/27/08 01:04 PM

As we all know, this is a major election year and we all want to be heard. Years past we have heard multiple stories about long lines on Election Day so the early voting is a wonderful option. Both me and my husband voted today and it took longer to drive to the location than to actually cast our votes.
I wanted to provide some information for my fellow Coloradoans. I personally live in Weld County and wanted to provide information just in case the Sample Ballot was misplaced (which can happen with all the mail we get these … (0 comments)

Erie Recreation Center - 10/23/08 11:30 AM
I had to write today because I'm sitting at the Erie Community Center here in Erie. I'm watching my 3 1/2 year old in her ballet/tap class. There are so many kids in her class and I can't help but wonder if they will all grow up to compete on "So You Think You Can Dance?" My daughter, is the one in class that probably won't because she is running around galloping like a horse.
But, enough about my daughter's imagination. I have to say I love this place. I am here at least once a day either working out (which … (0 comments)
