Missed the Tax Credit?? - 08/31/10 08:34 PM
If you "missed" the tax credit back in April, you would have probably had a 5 1/4 % interest rate on a 30 year fixed loan up to $417,000, where today your interest rate on the same conforming loan would be about 4 1/4%!!! For example on a $400k loan, you would save 1% per year, which is $4k per year...so in 8 years (average person stays in a home 6-10 years), you save $32k which is MUCH better than $8k!!! … (2 comments)

J59 through Tuolumne County - 08/31/10 08:11 PM
J59 just received federal funds to repave the road.  I drove on it over the weekend.  What a difference.  You can immediatly tell when you hit the next county as the road becomes bumpy.  In order to receive the federal funds they had to make this a NO PASSING road.  I rarely pass so that does not bother me at all.  I just hope the slow trucks pull aside so those going the speed limit can get where they are going.

New Restaraunt coming to Sonora California - 08/23/10 07:17 PM
The owner of the famous Sonora Diamond Back restaurant is planning on opening a new restaurant by the time the holidays arrive.  The new place is to be call "Standard Pour" and I am guessing it will take up residence at the old brewery.  Unlike the Diamond Back which focuses on wine, the Standard Pour will focus on craft beers.
Delicious beer and food under one roof!  I can't wait.

thumbs up to Elin - 08/23/10 04:51 PM
Although I don't think people should go into a marriage thinking that if it does not work out that divorce is the answer, I do congratulate Elin for divorcing Tiger Woods.  What he did was wrong and apologies or not it is not a forgivable offense.  The children are going to be the ones suffering and when they get older, unfortunatly they will be able to read all about it on the internet.

River Rafting on the Stanislaus River - 08/23/10 04:45 PM
I went river rafting yesterday down the Stanislaus River.  This is less then a 20 minute drive from Sonora Califonia.  We launched from Knights Ferry which is off of Highway 108.
This is the first time rafting with my kids.  It was a different journey then in years past with a group of adults.  In years past I don't remember paddling as much and certainly did not have the arm & shoulder work out like I did yesterday!  The kids enjoyed the ride.  My five year old sat on the cooler enjoying the sites going by.  My daughter was armed with … (5 comments)

Bridge Loan - 08/22/10 02:34 AM
A bridge loan is short-term loan that is used until a person or company secures permanent financing or removes an existing obligation. This type of financing allows the user to meet current obligations by providing immediate cash flow. The loans are short-term (up to one year) with relatively high interest rates and are backed by some form of collateral such as real estate or inventory. Bridge loans are also known as interim financing, gap financing or a swing loan. As the term implies, these loans "bridge the gap" between times when financing is needed. They are used by both corporations and … (3 comments)

Shopping for a New Home - 08/22/10 02:14 AM
An important first step is selecting a buyer's agent to help you find your dream home. He or she can represent the buyer's interest in a real estate transaction. Before making a decision, however, have a realtor explain the pros and cons of using a buyer's agent versus a sales or dual agent. A CENTURY 21® agent can guide you through every step of buying your next home. When you're ready to visit houses, ask your CENTURY 21 professional champion to arrange showings, and be sure to keep track of the properties you've seen. Each time you view more properties, refer … (1 comments)

Opening Game Day for Tuolumne County Youth Soccer - 08/21/10 12:49 PM
Today is the first game day for the 2010 Tuolumne County Youth Soccer.  TCYS has been around since 1979.  It is amazing to see how many kids play soccer each season.  Tuolumne County is a relatively small area and yet we get close to 1100 players each season.  I brought my mom to a game last year and she could not believe the amount of kids at Standard Park.
The under 6's don't start for a few more weeks since they only play a total of 6 games.

See you at Standard Park!

Back to School - 08/20/10 04:24 PM
Now that school is back in session it is important to remember to eat breakfast.  Kids who eat breakfast have better concentration, improved memory, fewer absences & lower risk of obesity.  To help your kids eat breakfast, sit down with them!!!  Also remember any healthy food can be a healthy breakfast.  If you don't like traditional breakfast foods try tortillas and beans, cold pizza or even a sandwich.  Have a great start to your day!
