As many of my clients are from out of the area or out of state, they seem to have a notion that the South Bay is simply one big city and there aren't all that many differences between Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beachand Redondo Beach. The reality is that even within these cities the individual neighborhoods vary quite a bit. This is a strange market indeed. Certain properties sit forever without an offer while others get multiple offers and get bid up over asking price. The problem is that the media only seems to mention the first situation which keeps buyers thinking that everything is negotiable and that they are the only ones out there looking for a "deal".

I recently sold a home in the Victoria Knolls neighborhood of Torranceand was very surprise at just how few people even knew it existed. Victoria Knolls is actually in the Walteria area of Torrance but has a very different feel due to the fact that it's so isolated and it's actually up on the hill (see Victoria Knolls Map). Oh how I wish I didn't rely on technology so much. It seems like every time I have a listing appointment or are rushing off to write up an offer something always goes wrong. Does the printer know when I'm in a hurry and purposely decide to stop working at the most opportune moment? Lately it's like the domino effect. My computer recently decided it had had enough and proudly displayed a grim blue screen telling me to go out and buy a new one. Of course getting a new computer is just the beginning. One thing in real estate that I always get a kick out of is the ever evolving trends in real estate. I'm currently selling a home at 21714 Evalyn in the Southwood neighborhood of Torrance and in discussing with the owner how best to prepare the home to be sold, I realized what a difference a generation makes.
