Oh my goodness, everyone! Are you all still out there?

I have taken (without any notice to anyone on Active Rain) a break/hiatus/vacation/time off since last September.

Been busy trying to get our daughter off to college... and that we did.

See, we have been homeschooling our girls for 10 years! Whew! (In addition to running the biz). Just couldn't do both this last year of high school, with our oldest, and it was the first time we'd ever "graduated" one of our girls.

This last year of high school was going to be the some of the last times we would have our senior daughter with us.

I wanted to be there for her, with her and make sure she had the best springboard to her future. She studied for tests, applied for scholarships, took honors classes at our home school co-op, and then...on May 14th she graduated with 13 other Seniors at the Upstate Homeschool Co-op!

...starting with the SAT, which she got 2200 on, and ending with acceptance to Furman University in the Fall with scholarships and grants paying all but $3,000 of her tuition (it is $46K a year- gulp!), she did it! We did it!

So, here she is, Class of 2009 (and 2013):

Poor thing, she looks like her mother!

Glad to be back, I have missed everything and everyone, but I think I would have missed this last year with Sarah more!

Become a Child Again!
Leslie Hoyt ~ Hello Home! (Hello Home!)
This is Part 1, about a boy's room. Part 2- GIRL is to follow. To stage a bedroom as a boy's room or not to stage a boy's room, that is the question. Sometimes, in a smallish house, a child's room needs to be more versatile. Like a guest room or…
Let's get this fireplace out of the 80's!
Leslie Hoyt ~ Hello Home! (Hello Home!)
When seeing the tile on this fireplace surround, we knew it had to be painted, as hunter green dated it terribly. We used a satin black Krylon enamel over a primer to update it. (Oh, we also painted all the wood oak trim white). (Excuse the…
