holiday: It's time for the Santa Tracker! - 12/24/10 10:10 AM
If you have kids or know folks who have kids this is so much fun to do!  Checkout NORAD's Santa Tracker. Share it with the young ones or the young at heart! This has become a tradition in our home and I hope sharing it here will help keep your little ones and the young at heart busy, too.  Ali is eleven this year but, she still wants to see where "he" is. After bringing her gifts to the tree the very next comment was - "Let's see where Santa is!" Don't miss out on the videos it is a world history … (5 comments)

holiday: A nice traditional Holiday story: the TREE - 12/23/10 08:22 PM
Did you know that it was Martin Luther on the way home at Christmastime who saw stars through a pine tree. It so overwhelmed him with it's beauty that he had to share that beauty with his family. He brought in a little tree and lit candles so they could see the "stars" as he had. So started the tradition of Christmas trees. This was the nicest tree I could find for you this year and I hope the stars sparkle brightly for you and yours this season:

The second gift I have for you is perhaps an important story: from Susan Lassiter … (1 comments)

holiday: This living a life stuff-be real and let the world in. - 12/01/10 11:19 AM
I admire those folks who let the entire world know who they are right from the cradle. Most kids seem to do that naturally then somewhere along the line we lose some of that voice that says, "Hello world, here I am: like me or not, I'm happy with who I am and so there." It disappears. Why does it go away? We decide to find a way to fit in. To act like the cool kids or the tough kids or whomever.
Not anymore, This past year I have shown the world a lot about who I am and I'm … (0 comments)

holiday: Is Attitude a part of Tradition? - 11/25/10 09:07 AM
When I thought of what I wanted to say today I thought of all of the good things that have happened this year and then realized-some of those I would have to "spin" to find the good in it.  Maybe what I am most thankful for is the ability to find the good in all that has happened.
Our youngest daughter has grown from a sweet young lady into a young LADY. 5'4" and taller than her Grandma and some of my friends-that was strange to notice. I never took note of that until she gave them a hug and giggled at … (4 comments)

holiday: Re-cycle your tree and voila:give it away? - 01/03/09 03:55 PM
I saw an ad in the local Briefings newspaper I think, that described an ambitious lady who likes to paint. She collects the trees 3-400 a year (Ok but-how about two or three?)and has them sliced into 1/2 in rounds-then paints them with festive iconic scenes to be used for Holiday ornements and she is selling them at boutiques! For those in a creative frame of mind you might want to try a pass at this. One tiny hole for the festive ribbon, a bit of paint and what a cool idea for next years giveways!
Have a fabulous 2009. I'm all … (0 comments)

holiday: Valentine's day-how will you celebrate? - 02/14/08 10:06 AM
Is it all about cost or price? That's what our news group was talking about this morning. Men said yes, ladies said it's about love and some ladies said they didn't need a man to enjoy the day. Personally I enjoy enjoying it with all of my family.
It's strange the things that are marked by this day. Having lived in Chicago for twenty years-this day relates to the St. Valentine's day massacre in a part of my mind. They still mention it on the news each year there.
My oldest daughter was supposed to celebrate today by moving to finally have her … (3 comments)

holiday: Fall Mornings are so beautiful! - 10/19/07 08:44 AM
I am at my desk early today and thinking about the next few weeks, it struck me that now may be a good time to remind you that it isn't always a good time of year if you aren't cautious.
We have finally found the cool weather and that means the Holidays are on the way. It has always seemed to me that there is a balance in every part of life and that's my topic for this post. Just a quick caution to remind you as you are preparing for the wonderful family events that are coming soon, that you proceed with … (0 comments)
