realtor: Keeping my facebook time to just 15 minutes of "effective time". - 01/19/11 05:05 PM

realtor: A little Mom Proud today: Carlisle Elementary School Plano, TX 75023 - 01/06/11 06:25 PM
Our youngest daughter Alison, surprised us today with an e-mail that said she is one of 3 in the District with a shot at getting (winning) a $1000. savings bond for her poster. The energy company Oncor came by their school and brought big pads of drawing paper, Markets, Crayons, colored pencils and paints and they gave a presentation to the 5th graders about electricity and some safety tips. All of the kids took home this gift set and then they asked the students to draw a poster about what they had learned and submit it to win a $1000. savings

realtor: This living a life stuff-be real and let the world in. - 12/01/10 11:19 AM
I admire those folks who let the entire world know who they are right from the cradle. Most kids seem to do that naturally then somewhere along the line we lose some of that voice that says, "Hello world, here I am: like me or not, I'm happy with who I am and so there." It disappears. Why does it go away? We decide to find a way to fit in. To act like the cool kids or the tough kids or whomever. Not anymore, This past year I have shown the world a lot about who I am and I'm

realtor: Seriously-Don't miss this once a year opportunity! - 12/01/10 10:13 AM
This is an open letter to Lisa Molino, an aspiring Networker who taught me something today! We both joined an online Networking group on Linkedin and she was mystified that no one was "talking" in the group it seemed that all they wanted was to connect to anyone/everyone and that is like taking a shotgun to a dove hunt. You will probably get the bird but, what the heck do you do with it then? (Sorry for the Texas style example if that was too shocking for anyone)--Let's talk Networking: Dear Lisa, Well Lisa I think you have a winner attitude and

realtor: Do you know the Group? Home from Space is still Home-just from a different angle! - 11/30/10 04:59 AM
Rambles this morning- Love the concept: The Group from Colorado They started Ninjas-I found them years ago and loved the CRS class on Ninja Selling-Now I am liking the blog posts! Like everyone else I too come from someplace- This same topic came up yesterday when talking with one of our agents- I am blessed and cursed to be in real estate. My mothers fault-She took her 4 kids to new home builders for years for decorating ideas for our personal home. We ended up moving 21 times before I was 18 (Not all military-some was Motorola too) and had many

realtor: Your Attitude, like your slip is showing! - 09/08/10 10:59 PM
Good Grief: When you answer questions online take one more step and when you spell check, grammar check and re-read what you wrote-for heaven's sake if you are in a bad mood-Let the post sit overnight! It stays out there forever and while you may not feel that way tomorrow the attitude is still out there-showing your worst side. Rumor has it folks like to work with Happy people-you are doing yourself a huge disservice to post something negative when you could just as easily have waited overnight and posted it from a brighter perspective. Faith in the economy hasn't gone up

realtor: Have you learned to speak in 140 characters? - 08/26/10 09:03 PM
I have learned to edit down to 140 characters unless my brain takes over my hands then I blog and send the Tweet readers and Facebook friends here to get the whole story! It has really helped to edit my advertising too. Now I can write really effective real estate ads in almost no words or less! Since it is hard to stay in the 140 character mode I have started a system of creating up to 10 posts at a time. Today's was going to be simple Give to get. Sounds a lot like the golden rule. I give you

realtor: Re-cycle your tree and voila:give it away? - 01/03/09 03:55 PM
I saw an ad in the local Briefings newspaper I think, that described an ambitious lady who likes to paint. She collects the trees 3-400 a year (Ok but-how about two or three?)and has them sliced into 1/2 in rounds-then paints them with festive iconic scenes to be used for Holiday ornements and she is selling them at boutiques! For those in a creative frame of mind you might want to try a pass at this. One tiny hole for the festive ribbon, a bit of paint and what a cool idea for next years giveways! Have a fabulous 2009. I'm all

realtor: 7-Habits just grew an eighth! - 02/20/08 09:13 PM
If you are a Covey fan then you will be familiar with the "7 habits of highly effective people"-This is one of the business books that I think we should require ourselves to re-read every few years or so. As we are growing up it is fun to see how far our development has progressed since the last read. I just found out-where have I been? that there was an 8th habit! Good news for all of us: we are already practicing it! The 8th, in case you missed out on it too, is simple+FIND YOUR VOICE! and then help others find

realtor: IRS Scam from State attorney of Texas - 02/18/08 08:01 PM
The IRS knows our social security numbers don't give them out over the phone even if someone calls talking about the Bush refunds! and the IRS.This is identity theft that can be easily avoided. It seems the bad guys are trying to divert money from people who are deserving of it.If we publish this information perhaps there will be a few unsuspecting and perhaps susceptible people who won't just blurt out their personal information. You can make a difference if you talk to your community on this topic.I will include a link to the Texas State's attorney's letter that was received by

Today I invited the entire office to become bloggers so you may see more of us Suburbs people talking about North Texas! The reason for the invitation was to help them in the Blogging class that I am offering this afternoon. If I can just get them here I think we can get them talking don't you?! I am enjoying a new office-still in North

realtor: Real Estate Terms for 2008 from 2007. - 01/24/08 01:07 PM
Nightline suggested just last night that NOW is the time-to BUY while the rates are down and the inventory is up. Two days ago the Federal Reserve bank dropped the rates by 3/4 of a percent: the largest single drop in 20 years. This opens the door to a very unique opportunity. This opportunity is called Buy Time. The time to buy.Why buy? Let me show you why: interst rates are down and dropping, check the chart for items that may be important to your lifestyle and how they fit into each type of property use. One more good link-Let's look at this

realtor: What does the top ten rental cities have to do with the state of buying a home? - 01/13/08 03:08 PM
If you look at the top ten most expensive places for a renter to live in this country, you will notice that North Texas is not on that list. Why do rental rates go up? It's called scarcity. When the number of rental units drop, the cost of renting a home goes up! Simple supply and demand. So, if the cost of renting an apartment is still low (on the average) as it is in North Texas, then there is a good reason for that-we still have an abundance of places to rent. See this link for the Top Ten Most Expensive places

realtor: 15 days to Freshen a New Year - 12/26/07 12:46 PM
At twelve midnight we all will have 5 days left in this year of 2007 and that's five days to finish our goals for the year and perhaps make some ammends for anything that might have need of mending? I learned something that had been bothering me for a couple of months today-had one of those AHA moments and now have a better plan for next year because of it. What have you learned recently that will help you next year? Might be time to contemplate that one! It seems that there are a few (check the Blogs link and you can see

realtor: REALTORS a moment please! - 12/05/07 05:18 PM
Should you be marketing any of your listings a bit differently? Today when you take a listing do you ever have a slightly sinking feeling that says hmmm this one's going to be a tough one to sell? Have you ever wondered if the buyer that is THE buyer for a particular listing is really "local"? Perhaps not. So what do you do? I started off on this track because I have been asked to help market a development in Mexico. Now I know that I am going to get replys from everyone with either a CIPS or IRES. That's OK those

realtor: A better way to blog? - 12/05/07 04:43 PM
No one mentioned that there might be a better way to blog on Active Rain- I really should have taken advantage of the newcomer's group, I guess! Next time I want to create a dialog I will reply to my own blog with the next "chapter" in the story! Then everyone can follow one line of thought and not have to wander around all of them to get my drift. Ooops. My bad, I'll get better at it eventually. Sometimes it just comes to you over time! or when you are fixing your lunch!
