sale: Rainy Day work - 03/18/08 01:12 PM
When it's gray and gloomy outside so many of us try to stay inside. We are having a couldburst kind of day today in North Texas and the best thing about it is the flowers are just rejoicing! We have petunias in front of the office that are dancing in the rain! It's funny to watch them kind of wiggle everytime a raindrop finds a petal.
What are you doing for your rainy day? It seems that this same cloud is almost covering the entire country right now and while I know we will have some really incredible flowers by the end of … (0 comments)

sale: The 8th Habit went to Tennesee this weekend - 02/27/08 04:41 PM
SO did Swiss Family Robinson for my daughter. We try to encourage her to be as big a reader as we are so this last trip to the library I picked up the 8th Habit by Covey and since we were called out of town on Sunday afternoon-I took it with me-Luckily I am one of those strange people who can read in the car and I did. There's as much to this habit as there was in the 7 habits of highly effective people! I am enjoying it. Just wish I had more time to read.
Heh Texan's, our business … (2 comments)

sale: Millionaire debt? - 02/21/08 06:23 PM
REALTORS can be very sensative people we take what we do seriously and to heart. We are like the rest of the world we really don't like to fail our customers and we love to get a win-win where everyone gets something valuable and walks away from the closing table happier than when they arrived. Today's world is different than even a year ago.
Buyers are more serious and cautious than they used to be. Some have bought into the media hype (even in Texas where we have two of the most stable areas in the country-Dallas and Houston.) They have simply closed … (0 comments)

sale: How does a Real estate consultant spend a rainy day? - 02/21/08 05:55 PM
North Texas is brr cold-not as cold as other places in this fine country but, cold enough for us to pull our scarves closer around our necks and huddle just a little bit closer together. I am finding blankets in places I don't usually see them. There is one in my car, upstairs in the workshop next to my desk, across the back of the couch, across the end of the beds. Rainy days add to the chilly feelings outside but, it doesn't affect the warm feelings inside!
I was lucky today I got to celebrate with one of the agents in … (0 comments)

sale: 7-Habits just grew an eighth! - 02/20/08 09:13 PM
If you are a Covey fan then you will be familiar with the "7 habits of highly effective people"-This is one of the business books that I think we should require ourselves to re-read every few years or so. As we are growing up it is fun to see how far our development has progressed since the last read.
I just found out-where have I been? that there was an 8th habit! Good news for all of us: we are already practicing it! The 8th, in case you missed out on it too, is simple+FIND YOUR VOICE! and then help others find … (2 comments)

sale: IRS Scam from State attorney of Texas - 02/18/08 08:01 PM
The IRS knows our social security numbers don't give them out over the phone even if someone calls talking about the Bush refunds! and the IRS.This is identity theft that can be easily avoided. It seems the bad guys are trying to divert money from people who are deserving of it.If we publish this information perhaps there will be a few unsuspecting and perhaps susceptible people who won't just blurt out their personal information. You can make a difference if you talk to your community on this topic.I will include a link to the Texas State's attorney's letter that was received by … (2 comments)

sale: RE/MAX Dallas Suburbs learns to blog today - 02/18/08 09:31 AM
I have to say thanks to the AR's. You have helped me become better at blogging! I read your blogs and they give me ideas that have helped me move my blog to number 4 in my area. Today I invited the entire office to become bloggers so you may see more of us Suburbs people talking about North Texas! The reason for the invitation was to help them in the Blogging class that I am offering this afternoon. If I can just get them here I think we can get them talking don't you?!
I am enjoying a new office-still in North … (2 comments)

sale: This time of year brings change - 02/12/08 09:02 AM
It's funny that this is a true statement when it comes to real estate as well. I was playing with adwords on Google and had so much fun finding out what words work at which time of the year. What a neat exercize!  So this time of year coming up-for your information, people are interested in learning more about "distressed properties", they may search for the term "HUD" homes and "Shorts" and in shortsale i suspect. Everyone is looking for a deal. Well so are we! So be wise use these words in your communications online! Let me know how it … (1 comments)

sale: Still think you can't get a loan? Fed's decision may change your mind! - 01/25/08 12:14 PM
The Federal Government has realized (finally) what all of the bad press has been doing to the housing market and that affects many people's jobs. I always tell people who ask for housing advice to follow the jobs. If they are relocating check out the job market even if you are transferring for a job just to be sure that there are OTHER jobs of the same or a better nature in that area. I have personally made that mistake once long ago and frankly that is probably how I eneded up in Real Estate Sales and Training. At least I landed … (0 comments)

sale: Real Estate Terms for 2008 from 2007. - 01/24/08 01:07 PM
Nightline suggested just last night that NOW is the time-to BUY while the rates are down and the inventory is up. Two days ago the Federal Reserve bank dropped the rates by 3/4 of a percent: the largest single drop in 20 years. This opens the door to a very unique opportunity. This opportunity is called Buy Time. The time to buy.Why buy? Let me show you why: interst rates are down and dropping, check the chart for items that may be important to your lifestyle and how they fit into each type of property use.
One more good link-Let's look at this … (0 comments)

sale: It's not just the coyote moon! Notes from TEXAS - 01/15/08 05:33 PM
You know sometimes I end up speaking to people in other countries during my workdays. Today I had called India for help on their 800 number 5 times and I was more than a little bit peeved when they continued to cut me off and disconnect every time they put me on hold. I didn't know at the start that I was headed to a long, long distance visit around the world. In fact I thought I would be talking to a bank somewhere in the US. It was not meant to be. The last call turned out to be even stranger-as … (0 comments)

sale: I just heard... - 01/13/08 07:53 PM
March 15, 2008 the downpayment assistance programs are going to end. So IF you are thinking about buying a home and think that you might have wanted to take advantage of this program, NOW is the time to be calling. Right now. It can take up to 30 days to close from contract to closing. I do know people...BUT,
The point is if you are in the market for a home this year and need down-payment assistance-let's talk now.
