Blogging 101

Here I go. I'm blogging. I think.

Everywhere I go I hear, "Henri, you've got to get a blog" or "Everyone's doing it. You've gotta start blogging" as well as the oh so subtle "Everyone under 40 blogs!", but the best reason I've heard for setting up a blog is "it is the best way to communicate to buyers and sellers about our real estate market".

Isn't that what I do, or try to do, every single day? Sure, I love selling real estate. Yes, I really love working with buyers and sellers, helping them achieve their real estate dreams and goals. No, it is not a slogan, it is really what I believe and do. And how do I do that? I start every day asking myself, "What am I going to do today to help someone else understand real estate a little bit better?"

So, if blogging is truly the best way to communicate to buyers and sellers, then blogging I'm doing - or something like that.

Here's the deal. It doesn't matter what the media is saying. It doesn't matter what your mama, your daddy, your best friend, or big brother says. We all know - good market, bad market, realistic market (more on that later) - real estate is still the best way to achieve personal financial success for most of us. And all of us want personal financial success - don't we?

I know real estate. More than that, I know the real estate market is moving fast, changing daily, and confusing the mess out of many would-be buyers and sellers. Maybe I can help. I'll try. I work and live in the Hampton Roads communities of Virginia (Chesapeake, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk, Virginia), so I imagine most of my blogs will talk about these communities. But, while real estate may be local it is fast becoming global. So no matter where you live, chime in.

If I don't know the answer (and I don't know everything, although my husband says I think I do), I'll do my best to find the answer for you.
