portland listings: Southeast Portland Market Action Report for Sept. 2009 - 10/21/09 09:47 AM
Market activity and sales continue to improve over the greater Portland area market, while listing inventory continues to fall creating a faster selling market time.
In Southeast Portland comparing August 2009 with September 2009 the Number of active listings has dropped while the number of Pending Sales has increased. Solds are down for the month and Days on the market have increased slightly by 4 days.
Average Sales Price for the month have increased by $8,900 over last month and Median price has increased as well by $1,000.

In the approximately 20 years that I have enjoyed pursuing my passion and career in Real Estate, there has been ONLY ONE constant when it comes to advertising a listing.
For all of the marketing schemes and ploys. And all of the fancy Ads, Brochures, Magazines, Video's and TV shows. There is still only one effective method of marketing your listings.
No IT IS NOT a fabulous sign or a successful company and or agent. IT IS NOT a guided tour bus full of hopeful agents coming to eat your catered luncheon. NOR IS IT a special promotion designed to get as many Buyers in your home as … (30 comments)

The best thing that ever happened to my Real Estate Career was my Geographical Move. I will admit that it was a bit scarry at the time. After all I was the Number 1 agent in the Number 1 office for the entire County. Folks this was not your typical I'm number 1 advertising ploy used by every agent that comes down the Pike.

A quick cute story. I had taken a Sign call fairly early in the morning some years ago on a Home that I had Listed in the Piedmont Neighborhood of Portland Oregon. The call had been placed by a fellow that I would guess was about 35 years old or so. He had asked if I could pick him and his Grandmother up and take them to see the house.

Some 30 Days ago My long term Client Paul called me in the evening and asked if I would put a rental home, (cosmetic fixer) that he owned in the Irvington neighborhood of Portland Oregon on the market. Now I have known Paul for a lot of years and I know he is always a straight forward guy who pretty much already knows what he wants before he calls you. I was also familiar with the house in Irvington having been in it a couple of years before.

A little over 2 years ago I was working with a group of 30's somethings. As they were Rehabbing this 1950's ranch that had never been touched. I Work very closely with my client's, not just being there Broker for the purchase and the re-sale I also act as a consultant throughout the project. Isa, the owner of the project and I were talking about outfitting the Kitchen with new appliances. We both felt that it was imperative to keep the home in that 50's style.
