portland oregon real estate broker: Sellers are You Proactive Reactive or Passive - 12/24/10 11:58 AM
As an active Real Estate Broker licensed in Portland Oregon I get all kinds of questions about Real Estate in Portland and in general. One question that I have been getting quite a bit lately is " How's the Portland Market doing now?, I hear it's kind of slow! ". I just love this one. I am always kind when I answer matter of factly that " you know of course all Real Estate is Local". I then go on to ask the key question. Are you currently trying to sell your home? If not, are you considering it in the near future.

portland oregon real estate broker: Template Web Sites and Marketing Are We Doing it Wrong - 06/10/07 12:59 PM
Are we truly marketing our selves on the Internet to our best ability? An AR member Judy_Cicalese recently emailed me asking for some advice, well actually not. She had read a comment that I had left somewhere about the fact that My_Portland_Oregon_Real_Estate_Web_Site was an Alamode_Real_Estate_Web_Sites . A template type Web site and she wondered how I liked it and was I getting any leads from it. Judy has an Alamode site as well that she has had for 2 years. The Trumbull_Ct_Real_Estate_Web_Site of Judy's is a straight out of the box Alamode Template style web site. So I could not answer Judy's original question without looking at her

For some time now I have been wrestling with my self over purchasing a Lap Top Computer or not. My dilemma is that I am a Portland Oregon Real Estate Broker who loves technology. Unchecked I will buy anything that sounds like a good deal and convince myself that it was a fabulous purchase. I do this with many things like Cars for an example. I get tired of owning and driving the same car so the next thing you know I Have convinced myself that I need one and Boom I am driving home in a different automobile than when I left

portland oregon real estate broker: Choosing the Right Lender My 22 questions - 04/07/07 12:16 AM
If you are a Real Estate Agent like I am we often times will pick up a buyer through a sign call or an open house. Many times that Buyer will already have started a pre-qualification for a loan with a lender of their choice. For those times when they are not or if we feel that it might be beneficial to the Buyer we may be asked or volunteer to provide a recommendation for a Lender. These are the questions I use when interviewing a Lender in Portland Oregon for my clients. Are you a Mortgage Banker, Broker or both? What are your current rates including a

portland oregon real estate broker: Do you Know: What's the Purpose of Advertising ? - 03/14/07 10:29 PM
REALTORS have called me the King of Cheap Advertising, and have often remarked at how Spartan my ads seem to be . They are normally not more than 3 or 5 lines in length. In fact a Large ad for me would be a whole 6 lines. I have even written many ads that were only 2 lines long. How do you keep your Seller's happy with ads like that, they would remark. If only they new. Do you know? What's the Purpose of Advertising ? The old man was steady in his gaze as he surveyed the audience. His face displayed a hint of fatigue and a little bewilderment as he listened to

portland oregon real estate broker: "Know thy Client " a Lesson in Patience - 03/11/07 09:52 PM
The expired listing phone interview had gone fairly well. Bob definitely wanted to sell. In fact he had to sell. My on-line review of the former listing revealed many mistakes. Wrong School DistrictsWrong Cross streets with inaccurate directionsWrong number of BathsIncorrect type of HeatingIn general the former listing agent had made numerous fatal errors to what was otherwise a pretty good house. Now don't get me wrong the sale of this home was not going to be a walk in the park. But it certainly would be made easier with accurate information. The Listing presentation went fairly well. I was not sure

portland oregon real estate broker: Top TEN Must ask Questions before listing your home for sale. - 02/22/07 06:11 PM
A partial reprint from a Posting on my Portland Flips Blog http://portlandflips.wordpress.com/2007/02/22/top-ten-must-ask-questions-before-listing-your-home/. It's always amazing to me the comments that I receive from Seller's who's home has been on the market for some time, an Expired Listing (Industry speak for a home that did not sell ). The one thing the Seller's all seem to have in common is their total astonishment or anger as to why their house did not sell. I always ask them these questions: How did you choose your previous Agent? What did your previous Agent do that you liked the best? What did your previous Agent to that you
