Short Sales? Sometimes not very short. Buyers should enter the process with lots of patience and an agent trained in short sale negotiations. - 09/27/11 10:36 AM
The term short sale has woven its way into the homebuyer lexicon during the past year. While not a foreclosure property, short sale homes have their own special financial issues that require a real estate agent who is trained in this type of sale. What is a short sale? When a homeowner is in financial difficulty, can’t keep current on mortgage payments and may see a foreclosure in the near future, the owner and the lending institution decide to sell the home for less than owed on the mortgage. Buyers are attracted to short sales hoping to score a property at (0 comments)

My First Facebook Friday - 09/16/11 12:42 PM
This is my first Facebook Friday post. While I have been around ActiveRain for awhile and have a bit of points, I have not been very active. This post will be my first step towards a more active interaction with everyone here on ActiveRain. I hope to meet a lot of great people and get to know as many of you as I can. Since I don't know a lot of other people on here, I had to "borrow" all the other Facebook links from the other wonderful Facebook Friday posts. Please also take this opportunity to introduce yourself to (0 comments)
Real estate agents are community resources. We do much more than buy and sell homes. - 09/13/11 10:36 AM
Realtors sell houses and help people buy homes. You have a relationship with your agent for a brief time and then both of you move on. Sounds simple enough. But, peel back the layers of that relationship, and you find how much of an impact your agent can be, not just during the buying and selling process, for many years to come.
A home doesn’t stand as a single, uncomplicated entity. It needs maintenance, decorating, fixing up, landscaping and protection. A home needs to be cleaned, plumbed, air conditioned, heated, insured and pest-protected.
9/11 Remembered - 09/09/11 11:30 AM
September 11, 2001. America was attacked by terrorists, killing nearly 3,000 people. Four planes were hijacked by terrorists; two used on the World Trade Center Buildings, one used to hit the Pentagon, and one was heroically downed by those in it so it couldn't be used against other Americans (United Airlines Flight 93). Today, I would like to honor those killed or who gave their lives to save others during this catastrophe.
September 11 will be etched into everyone's memory.
The men and women of New York and Washington D.C. acted heroically to save everyone they could (1 comments)
We’re headed into fall and hopefully we’ve seen the last of the 100 degree plus weather. However, considering how extreme our weather has been the past couple of years, we may have winter challenges to face in a few months.
As we settle into cooler temperatures, give some thought to being prepared with a home energy audit. Utility bills are increasing at an alarming rate; you can do your part to reduce your energy requirements.
First on the list is understanding your energy statements. These statements may seem rather boring, but they contain useful information (other than the (1 comments)
