housing forecast: April: A 90-day look back at the Bend Market - 04/10/09 01:06 PM
This month, I'd like to start off by saying--- these statistics are taken straight from the MLS system and the information is provided to help sellers align their product into the best position for sales. Although I'm posting on the world wide web---this is not a discussion on how "bad" the market is---that's old news. I'd like this to be a concentrated effort on how Real Estate Professionals can provide vital sales statistics to their clients to a beneficial end. Just this week Bend had 18 pending sales, 13 contingents, 73 price reductions and 9 sales closed. That to me is

housing forecast: Housing Stimulus - 02/10/09 05:35 PM
This afternoon the Senate approved the new stimulus package. Inside the unbelievably huge, overwhelming varied bill, were a few tidbits for the housing industry. The existing $7500 tax credit (that you have to repay btw) has been increased to $15,000 for first-time homebuyers, and the new version of the credit asks that the amount be claimable on 2008 and 2009 returns. Also, the new bill contains wording to eliminate the repayment requirement. Higher loan limits for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and FHA are included as well. Oh yes, and how much did this monstrous bill cost in all? 838 BILLION

housing forecast: Housing Forecast November 2008 - 11/14/08 05:13 PM
Forecast for Housing Well, it looks like the experts have weighed in and most agree, this housing slump of ours will bottom out in the Spring of '09 and rebound slowly over the next two years. The NAHB has projected a 30% decline in housing starts for '09, and I don't doubt they are correct. With the saturation levels as they are (here in Deschutes we have a 15-month inventory) don't expect to see too many new developments springing up beside you! Instead, look to take advantage of the prices that have hit record-lows. It's imperative that our Housing Market comes
