mt washington: Photos and Info from the Ice Storm in Louisville - 01/29/09 12:52 AM
Virtually the entire state of Kentucky was hammered by snow and ice over the last two days. The storm left over 500,000 people without power for what may be up to 10 days. In the Louisville area, over 100,000 do not have electricity tonight. Jefferson County schools have been called off for the rest of the week and most surrounding counties are expected to do the same.
Our power was restored early this afternoon and I was able to venture out to get a few pictures and see how Bullitt County held up. I-65 and most main roads were fairly clear, … (15 comments)

mt washington: I almost wrecked when I saw this - 11/23/08 04:15 PM
I was driving from Shepherdsville to Mt Washington this morning when I topped a hill and saw this. While doing a double-take, I almost didn't notice the car in front of me stopping short. (Apparently, he was so excited that he needed to pull over immediately). I still had more than 1/2 tank on my way back, but I stopped anyway.

As one of the 2 largest cities in Bullitt County, we expect the statistics from Mt Washington to mirror those for the county as a whole. With respect to Sales, Inventory and DOM, this is true. The news for February is not particularly good. As I mentioned in my post last month, the weather (tornados and ice storms) was not real conducive to home buying and selling. This combined with the current market conditions to yield:
New Listings: 138 (down 18% from Feb 2007)
Pending: 68 (down 24% from Feb 2007)
Sold: 45 (down 34% from Feb 2007)
Avg Sale Price: $147,664 (up 3.2% from Feb 2007)
The good news is that average price is still strong. The homes that are selling are close to list price (97%) and buyers are still willing to pay a premium over last year for properties … (0 comments)

Ok, I was looking around and was dismayed to find that no information was available for Bullitt County. As a resident of Shepherdsville and a Realtor, I guess that I'll assume responsibility and try to keep this updated.
Summary:
2007 marked a downturn in the Bullitt County real estate market. Sales were off 9.2% and average home prices dropped 1.4%. Additionally, Days on Market (DOM) increased from 86 to 99.
