longwood: Nehemiah Down Payment Assistance is 2/3rd of the way there to being a permanent fixture - 09/16/08 03:46 PM
Well the good news came today that the Senate has passed the new HR bill that will also for Down Payment Assistance Programs like Nehemiah to stay around. There will be more restrictions on the program such as credit scores, which I think there should be, but it's a step in the right direction. One more push for it to go through Congress and hopefully come October 1 it will be business as usual and I will be able to continue helping first time home buyers such as yourself get into homes.

I thought I would spend this morning doing a little market research on the areas. A lot of first time home buyers are gravitating towards the downtown area, not only for it's nightlife, but for it's green factor as well. Leave your car behind, dust off that bike or get a moped. Today's Urbanites are walking and biking to work. You can get from Thornton park area to the Church Street downtown area in as little as 15 mins by foot and 5 mins on a bike, no gas needed.
