business and ethics: Improvement Seen at September 2009 CA Homes Sales ~ California Association of Realtors - 10/29/09 11:54 AM
The California Association of Realtors has issued its September 2009 homes sales report, which has some good news. Home sold units at CA increased 2.1 percent in September as compared with the same period a year ago, while the median price of an existing home declined 7.3 percent. "The market's momentum continued in September, as many home buyers took advantage of the federal tax credit for first-time home buyers," said C.A.R. President James Liptak. "The success of the federal tax credit is clear. Nearly 70 percent of first-time home buyers report that the tax credit was ‘the most important' or a ‘very important'

business and ethics: Foreclosure Prevention and Loan Modification Help The Right Way ~ If You Are Upside Down on Your Mortgage - 08/11/09 08:03 PM
Never use a private foreclosure prevention agent or loan modifier if they ask for advance fees to be paid. See my articles ~ Do Your Home Loan Modification Through Non-Profit Groups & Organizations (click here) Be Skeptical About Anyone Asking for Advance Fees to be Paid For Private Loan Modification Services (click here). Never use a private foreclosure prevention or loan modifier agent who advertises on television or radio, because many of these will be scammers. The loan modification business has attracted some bad guy deal makers. It's good that some are being prosecuted by district attorneys for law violations, and others will have

business and ethics: Still Like Reading The Newspaper ~ In Print - 04/09/09 11:07 AM
I've always enjoyed a good cup of coffee and reading some of the newspaper in the morning. My newspaper reading started about age of 10 ... first with the local Salina Journal and then the Kansas City Star ... with focus on baseball, basketball, and sports, and then with more interest in local coverage. I liked the pictures and clipped some of them for scrapbooks, getting my hands dirty from the print. Grandpa Long and I sat together many times on his screened porch reading the paper. We learned a lot about our world then .. talking, listening, and arguing some ... with an idea that we were

business and ethics: Values Upon Which Our Success Depends ~ President Obama's Inauguration Address - 02/03/09 04:26 PM
Our U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA in his INAUGURATION ADDRESS on January 20, 2009, said: "Our challenges may be new, the instruments with which we meet them may be new, but those values upon which our success depends, honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism -- these things are old. "These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. "What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility -- a recognition, on the part of every American,

business and ethics: What's The Start of This New Year All About? No Resolutions Needed. - 01/01/09 08:43 PM
Is this New Year about A NEW BEGINNING? T.S. Eliot said "Ring out the old, ring in the new, For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning". Is our New Year about LUCK? Some people have thought that one could affect their luck for the year by what they did or ate on the first day of the year. Some people celebrate the first few minutes of a new year in the company of family and friends .. with idea to bring them all good

business and ethics: WHAT'S EXPECTED? THE GOOD REALTOR AGENT - 09/09/08 11:40 AM
There are some very good Realtors and real estate agents out there ... who always seem to be involved with helping their friends and clients. When hiring a Realtor agent to help you buy your next home ... or help you sell your home and property ... you should find one to trust ... and one who listens to what you have to say. The Realtor should be able to go the extra mile to help make your purchase or sale appear to be smooth. This agent should help you set aside the emotion of the situation and be objective.

business and ethics: City of Mission Viejo Patriotic Decision about "In God We Trust" - 04/23/08 12:50 AM
The Mission Viejo, California, City Council on April 21, 2008, joined a growing list of cities in OC adopting the national motto "In God We Trust" after unanimously deciding to display it. This is the fourth Orange County city to follow the trend to post the display in council chambers. Mission Viejo joins San Clemente, Cypress, and Westminster in displaying "In God We Trust." Villa Park, Tustin and Huntington Beach are considering the issue. Other California cities that have adopted the motto are Artesia, Hawthorne, Carson, Paso Robles, Oceanside, Victorville, Compton and Bakersfield. We believe this is patriotic, a good thing, and
