buying a new home: Now that I Have A Realtor, Can I Still Visit Open Houses? - 01/09/11 09:27 AM
Dear Holly, My wife and I have often spent our Sundays visiting local open houses. We have learned a lot about what we are looking for in our first home from these visits. Last week we signed a Buyer Agency Agreement so that we would have representation as we buy our first house. Our question is this: Can we still visit Open Houses sponsored by other Realtors®? Thanks for your opinion, First Time Buyer This is a great question! My first piece of advice would be to discuss this with your Buyer Agent. When I sign a Buyer Agency Agreement to

buying a new home: I've figured out what kind of house I want...what is next? - 10/24/10 06:11 PM
In yesterday's post, I need a new house...now what?, I covered information about the initial steps a buyer will take after deciding to buy a new house. When you put your wish list together, most of us focus on the number of bedrooms and the number of baths. Next on the

buying a new home: A Fresh Look At Buying A Home, Part II - 08/25/09 07:48 AM
In my last post I listed some things for buyers to consider as they begin the process of looking for a new home. In this post, you will find that list continued. Hopefully, the items I bring up here, and in my previous post 'A Fresh Look At Buying A Home, Part I,' will help you to narrow your focus and allow you to begin a more targeted search for your new home. How do you picture your weekends? Are you a career-oriented single looking for a place with a great master bedroom and close-by work out facility? Or are
